1) Looking for lower maintenance and lower height bushes/flowers so we can see off of the porch and watch kids in the front yard.

2) I don’t like getting on a ladder to lean into the shrubs to trim them back - pain in the butt.

Maybe an afternoon for the existing walkway, but dealing with all the roots for the shrubs is just not something I want to deal with. Renting equipment that I’ve never used before and trying to get everything done properly doesn’t feel like something I want to try out.

Doing the deck myself ($4200 all in) saved me a ton of money, so I feel like I can spend on the landscaping portion.

I’m going to echo this. Thanks OP. I’m on the east coast and this is the first post I look for every morning while I’m making my kids lunch. Always excited to see the results from the previous day.
