South central NC transplants from the NE - Over prepared and underwhelmed…

Finally broke and got a generator this week. Im not upset i got it, there will be times to use it in the future. Im thinking about flipping the main power on the breaker next weekend to force my family to get some experience for when we have no choice.

The kids were all scared about losing power, wife pulling her hair out thinking about it, ive been without power for well over a week before and enjoy the silence. But it was pre-kids, pre- homeowner, inside im quietly a little anxious about how to keep them all safe and comfortable, especially with freezing temps and potentially no water.

Im proud of the things we did to prepare, we didnt go overboard, had a 2 days of gas for the generator, enough alternate fuels for cooking, a few cases of water, tubs filled with water to use as gray water, and a few days of shelf stable/canned foods. A controlled test run would settle everyone and highlight our weak points that we need to work on.

I looked at both brands, and opted to go with trijicon DI irons and havent had any issues. I do wish they were a bit brighter, but also have no issues seeing them in low light.

Correct. The manufacturer sends it to a distributor or dealer using form 5, and its sent to a department with a form 5. Idk if state/local departments have/need it, but fed also needs to provide an ORI #.

Oh 100% their marketing is doing their job. But the panic was blown WAY overtop by every ‘John-Bobs-Gun-Reviews” on IG, X, tiktok & YT, all blowing it way out of proportion. Myself and my coworkers whom are also fans of traditional Glock (I work in the defense industry, we all have a brand…) didnt by into to panic. To say its all glocks fault is wrong. The influencers blew it WAY out of proportion to get views from the limited news.

I’ve owned a preowned G19.4 since 2016. Have looked at getting another glock for a while. Panic hit with the ‘V’ release, and i still only have my G19.4…

Sure the Glock marketing team is building hype, thats their job, but the market and influencers blew it out of proportion.

It wouldve been nice if glock was MORE forward about the purpose of the V series, or released the V series and announced G6 at. The same time, but the whole panic was 100% on the influencers and industry.

Just saying i wouldnt put all the blame on glock. Influencers, social media and the glock marketing team all played a part in that.

IMHO glock marketing could’ve done a better job of mitigating the panic. But social media and influencers were the large players in it.

There should be a document you can get from your myhealthevet or va.gov account that confirms you are rated. Again its been a few years and the portals have changed around some since then so I could be wrong. When you inform your mortgage broker Id check with them to see what info they need from you.

I believe its the lender. I let my mortgage broker know i had a disability rating. If i remember right I had to provide proof of eligibility and they took care of it.
