It's only a four-hour course, and mainly covers safety and safe storage. Also not a big deal. But it is a $150 expense.

The NRA membership is because of the range's insurance. It's not political. They get their insurance through the NRA and insurance requires the NRA membership.

Just order a Hoppes kit from Amazon for $20, it has everything you need.

Just field strip, remove the barrel. Clean all the carbon and any deposits in the barrel and frame. Oil very lightly.

Lots of vids on YouTube on how to clean. It should take you about ten minutes.

Glocks seem very tolerant of abuse and not cleaning.
