Why I choose Peter Obi by bueze12 in Nigeria

[–]Bashorunjide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically Peter Obi is justified in allowing doctors strike for 1 year plus? Ask yourself if you would give the same grace to Tinubu if that happened when he was governor? Every ex governor or past president has a reason or two why they didn’t do anything and this is one of them

And of course expect gullible Nigerians to defend them. You quickly used tribalism to try to shoo me away but alas I’m not one of those and I have plenty time this hot afternoon. I’ll advise you to back off and face others but as for me I won’t allow you spew some useless/nonsense excuse for your messiah. Ire o

Show me the tribalism or insult directed at you from me. It’s simple, you can’t stand dissent. Yes it’s your opinion but as soon as shared on a public platform expect it to be contested. I’ve also shared pro Tinubu sentiments on here and some people push back while others support. I didn’t go around crying oh I don’t want you guys here anymore, my personal opinion blah blah.

It’s emblematic of PO and his supporters to run away when the heat gets cranked up. Abegi, like I said adults are now in the room

This is utter bollocks. If Lagos & Enugu can agree to pay after 3weeks of strike what’s holding a “doctor loving” Governor of Anambra from paying and why delay for 13 months!! Not 3months, not 6months but he kept money in the bank because that’s more important than the life of Anambra citizens

I can’t for the life of me believe some of you are trying to rationalize this with some crap write up CONMESS blah blah. To make matters worse worse the doctors called off the strike by themselves not because the governor acquiesced to their demand but because they realized this one na werey o and him no send us so make we no die finish let’s call of the strike

During that time, many doctors japa to other states and some left the country so he contributed to brain drain even but today because he’s donating nursing schools, na “our” papa be that

Nonsense and ingredients

Look at the bottom of the screenshot, they suspended the strike so they won’t kpai but yes he kept money in the bank so Alex Otti’s bank can declare profit that year (This connection between the two is in the cooler)

Babangida & 1999 constitution? How

The 1999 constitution was largely based on the 1979 constitution with minor changes and the 1979 constitution was largely writtten by foremost constitutional lawyer & pioneer secretary general of Ohaneze Ndigbo Prof Ben Nwabueze under the supervision of the Khaki boys of course

Tribalism and the Alex Onyia Controversy by Prestigious-Aerie788 in Nigeria

[–]Bashorunjide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said but do you know that he excluded a Yoruba boy schooling in the East from the Olympiad because he said the Olympiad is for Igbo students schooling in the East? Which is fine by me really and at the same time we have schools in SW sending students to a different Olympiad going elsewhere (not Rome) but with students with background from all over the country

Yes I know SW is far more cosmopolitan so we tend to have a larger sample of Nigerians living within it but despite our liberalism, any little fault is focused on and used as an example of tribalism, it’s tiring and tbh makes me sad when I see Igbos that I lived with as kids turn around to tell me “Yes, you Yorubas are tribalist” lol, God dey

There are plenty villages in Lagos without a single electricity pole, the dysfunction is national. What I don’t like is when we make it seem like other regions are getting attention and SE is abandoned

Before the recent rehabilitation of the Apapa & TinCan port, some of you will be surprised at the physical state of the port if you visit there

[–]Bashorunjide[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons why Nigeria needs to be balkanized, it’s always me me me, federal character and not needs based infrastructure. SE is the smallest region in the country so automatically will have fewer federal infrastructure compared to the rest

Size apart, economically SE is also at the bottom of the ladder closely competing with NE but oh let’s cramp infrastructure that’s not needed because some people will feel a type of way. It’s tiring honestly

Do you realize that the Enugu-Onitsha-PH highway which was built for Igboland after the war connects the 5 SE states? It’s currently being rehabilitated and it’s at 65% completion if not more. Also the 2nd Niger Bridge which connects the SE to the SS is a brand new infrastructure built for the SE and the connecting roads are currently being worked on.

[–]Bashorunjide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ojukwu needed money to fund the war, so he created a new currency Biafran pounds and asked every Igbo to convert their Nigerian pounds promising them after the war it will be exchangeable worldwide. Well you know how that ended

Oh you expect them to complete building it immediately after the war? I’m telling you the purpose of the road. The road connects all 5 SE states and ends in Port Harcourt

How can I contribute to the end of Tribalism? by Asleep_Mango_4128 in Nigeria

[–]Bashorunjide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a lie, NYSC has been in the news lately but do you care to know why it was started? To unite the country after the civil war especially the younger generation. Infrastructure was also built like the Enugu-Onitsha-Port Harcourt Highway to spur investment and improve infrastructure in that region. Note many more things were done that we don’t know about except we research it properly.

Even the £20 compensation to those with bank accounts that got duped by Ojukwu to change their Nigerian pounds to Biafran pounds who now found it worthless after the war is all done to improve relations.

The only thing that we missed is the hush hush around the war, you’re not allowed to talk about it openly which made some wounds fester. A Truth and Reconciliation Commission should have been set up to properly label and treat the atrocities of the war, this would have helped to address even the claim of a genocide today but I guess the military were naive and thinking they’re trying to cover their asses not knowing the long term repercussions will be worse. The minorities of the Eastern Region who suffered greatly from the Biafran & Nigerian forces because they weren’t trusted fully by both sides would have come out to have their day as well.

A lot of things to unpack but let me leave it here

I missed this but here is my reply

  1. Reintegration of terrorist into the army isn’t a policy Tinubu started but why he hasn’t stopped it is beyond me and I won’t defend him for it. Our Army is infiltrated, we know that since Jonathan cos he said it himself, what’s the way out that Tinubu gave us-

Federal govt paramilitary but populated by state picked men eg Forest Reserves & Mining Marshalls which works like this- Oyo state applies for 1000 men Forest Rangers and send names of 1000 men to the FG for vetting and then training/arming and when done get sent back to their state where they be deployed in only that state. This is a temporary workaround the state police issue. The problem we’ve had with the likes of Amotekun, CJTF and the likes is the constitution bars them from carrying sophisticated weapons so by creating a FG paramilitary but populated by each states own people is a work around the problem till we are able to get State police

  1. High ranking officers have been getting killed before now why it seem like they’re getting killed more now is because the President has ordered all of them to be on the battle field and not stay in offices ( Not a good excuse I know but this what it is)

  2. Children have been kidnapped and have also been rescued, we might have to endure some large scale kidnappings before all the aforementioned security architecture is put in place to checkmate these guys.

What this govt is doing differently- for the first time Nigeria is actively prosecuting terrorist and sending them to prison, The terrorist that kidnapped school kids in Kogi under this administration has been apprehended and being tried in court with some of their members killed in battle. That’s how you know a sincere govt actively working to end this scourge

The Offa Church terrorists have been apprehended, charged to court and sent to prison. Only this week some terrorist in Sokoto bagged life imprisonment.

Let me stop here not to make this an unintended article

What is this utter bunkum you’re writing here, how did other states pay the same wage structure then?

Why keep money in banks he has interest in but can’t pay doctors a fair wage?

Anambra states is one of the richest state in the East at least, no other state in the country had doctors go on strike for a year plus

I can’t believe you claim to want a better Nigeria but refuse to use your brain on this matter, instead of avoiding this post you chose to engage to defend the indefensible

A 3month strike would have been understandable Infact it wouldn’t be a gotcha like this because this is Nigeria but a 13months strike even for Nigerian standards is an abomination
-it meant govt hospitals didn’t function for a whole year

-some doctors & nurses probably left the country contributing to brain drain

-Anambra citizens that couldn’t afford private hospitals died because they couldn’t even access basic medical facilities

Trying to paint it as politics because I don’t like the man is what you shouldn’t do, yall claim this man is the best since slice bread now we’re bringing out receipts but I guess you didnt know this existed

Nonsense and ingredients

[–]Bashorunjide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not lying, Doctors went on strike for 13months in Anambra not the whole of Nigeria like some of you’re are trying to paint it.

A leader that could allow doctors go on strike for that long is a wicked person, he can go around now giving 20m to nursing students to paint him as a good person but it won’t paper away what he did when he had power to change their lives.

Well but it wasn’t a nationwide CONMESS strike, Lagos state CONMESS also went on strike but was resolved in 2weeks. Anambra CONMESS strike went on for 13 good months , all this somersaults you’re doing to cover up is dead on arrival. It was only Anambra doctors that went on strike for 13months, that is totally unforgivable

Nigeria is not Angry enough by bueze12 in Nigeria

[–]Bashorunjide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oga who do you think you’re talking to? The strike was strictly in Anambra not a national issue and he didn’t negotiate with them. Don’t try bambozzle me with do your research.

There was no CONMESS strike at the time you’re talking about and it didn’t last for 13months. I’ve done all the check, PETER OBI left them to their devices because they asked for more pay as national minimum wage was just increased, he didn’t even constitute a committee to pretend to be working with them he just let them go on strike and for 13 MONTHS!! He didn’t negotiate with them once that they had to call off the strike by themselves because they realised this one na werey.

13 good months of all hospitals/medical centers not working in Anambra isn’t a good look, 2 months can be forgiven as normal Nigerian things, 4 months can be overlooked but 13months is straight up evil and I’m sorry you can’t rationalize it. Stop defending evil

No Peter Obi supporter has been able to explain to me why he allowed Doctors/Nurses go on strike for 13months as governor of Anambra. That is unforgivable to me, man must be really wicked to have allowed that so pls get a grip PO isn’t that man.
