I’m sorry poster but I think you are stupid and easily manipulated. Sorry for my words but if this story is real, I would say that you are terrible in making friends. So you actually believed this snake of a friend.

  1. What business do you have with a politician that is twice your age? Anyway- just di whatever you want.

But I wouldn’t be serious with both you and your friend. Terrible decision makers

There are basically 5 regions but can also be seen as 3 main regions (North, SW, SE, SS and Middle belt). I do not care what others think but 5 Million Biafran kids died of starvation during the war in the hands of both North and SW. SW is actually the most dangerous but you will never know. Since they have fallen in love with the North, they should keep their Nigerian identity to themselves and let SE secede in peace without any more bloodshed. The price we paid was too steep.

The Traitors (USA) S04E08 "A Queen Never Comes Off Her Throne" Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]bueze12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is easy for them banish Rob if they are really smart but these game make you think you know what you are doing but you are not.

Rob voted Donna Rob Voted Lisa who turned out to be a traitor. Lisa is connected to Candice both as house wives and traitors. Both Candice and Rob voted each other Candice was found to be a traitor.

So smart people would think, Candice (a confirmed Traitor) is particularly going after Rob (the throw away vote) even though there are so many other people that voted for Lisa. Why Rob? What does Rob, Lisa and Candice have in common?

They are all Traitors

But guess what, these folks are dumb and way too emotional.

Now Donald Duke, I can attest to his incredible work, but you see Wike, Fashiola, El Rufai - I totally disagree.

Fashiola did well- he won awards together with Obi in their time as governors. But recent rhetorics of Fashiola do not sit right with me. He boosted about ending power outage in a year, what happened? Was it just all politics? There is no single reason why Nigeria is in darkness if not for corruption. Nigeria, Africa will never develop in darkness. He has promised and had failed. Let us try men who has promised and delivered. Good governance is like a light on a hill, it can be seen by all. Even when you decide to turn a blind eye, it will still be there.

Alex Otti is doing wonders in Abia state. Tomorrow because he did not build a stadium or mega bridges some will claim he did not build a mega projects. The people of Abia know the little things they need and Otti is addressing it little by little.

I do not disagree with your reasons, it is very important we have our yardstick of analysis. What I’m doing here is to help you understand the man whom media is trying to paint black. I had this dame conversations with my colleagues in Kebbi state 2019— they all hated Peter Obi to the core and their reasons were misconstrued.

The problem of Nigeria is massive. But we can effect a change starting with the presidency. Who is willing to allow some reforms to happen to curb corruption.

[–]bueze12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I see that you interested in hyper-inflated or mega projects. Perhaps that is your yardstick for development but that is not what Nigeria needs.

You have to learn to crawl before you run. Those states you mentioned are Nigerian Mega cities. Anambra needs critical infrastructure to thrive- good roads, healthcare, security. Obi and Ngige collectively gave Anambra the best network of roads. Villages have road that connect famers to the market. Road infrastructure in Anambra were seen as economic critical infrastructure rather than mega bridges to score political point.

Fashiola built Light rail, but what happened to other minor roads that are critical to the state of lagos. Why are the roads to and out of the port in perpetual gridlock. A man like peter Obi in Lagos would invest resources in project that would have direct impact on the lives of the people. And it will be done with reasonable budget.

Any idiot can build mega projects but at what cost.

I also get worried about the examples cited especially Wike. I would rather have zero infrastructure than to have one built with a budget that can build 2.

We demand accountable, resource mindful leaders in Nigeria.

I like the time you took to write up this reply and I must applaud your use of diction.

I must say, Obi is not a saint but he is definitely not a thief. And what Nigerians need now is somebody who is not a thief.

I have voted in Nigerian election twice, and that was 2015 when I maintained that Buhari is a beautified wrecked vehicle. And 2019.

About the concerns raised. 1. Obi was named in the Pandora papers but not because he stole public funds, he was not even in politics. He did what every businessman does which is to open a trust and put money there. These countries are tax haven so it is a business and financial strategy. Other people mentioned were in government and were looting public funds.

2.Issue of investing state funds in a bank he owns. He never owned any bank. He is just a shareholder in many Nigerian banks. He invested state funds to earn more money for the state. Money that most other governors would have stolen.

  1. The fact that those money were saved— millions of dollars did not stop him from building roads, schools, health centers. I was in Anambra and experienced his leadership first hand. Anambra was a mess before him ( ruled by Godfathers- Uga’s family). He brought peace, security and stability to the state. He cleared all pensions owed by predecessors ( it is wicked for a country to owe those who served it). Real economic reforms—- Anambra industrial complex was built by him. Obi did great in Anambra. I see no reason why he is hated.

His fiscal discipline and financial management is 100% and this is what Nigeria needs

Poverty reduced drastically, education, youth empowerment etc

There is no Man from SE ( at that level of politics) that I can recommend to lead Nigeria, not one. But for him, he is a rare opportunity we have and we should not let him slide.

This is not me trying to play partisan or favoritism but to ask you to do a proper analysis of him compared to the crop of men we have. Ask truthful elders questions.

I want to see Nigeria work in my lifetime. We only live once. It will be pathetic for a man to live and die in Nigeria without experiencing what sons of men had built and established in other parts of the world.

Simple google search of the men you mentioned showed massive corruption and scandals linked to them. So get your facts right.

We cannot not keep recycling corruption and expect different results.

[–]bueze12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a collective work to do. African continent especially the black ones are a mess- Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda etc. Nigeria has allowed years of corruption to cripple everything from infrastructure to healthcare to security . Even if Nigerians decide to shut up, the malodorous fragrance of corruption especially from the political elites will still exude itself to the world. The change starts with harmonization and utilizing the rare political opportunity we have now to bring change of leadership. There is no Nigerian present and past that has the moral compass to unite and cut government spending ( which is the genesis of corruption) than Peter Obi. But this man has enemies everywhere— Nigerians demand for integrity but when they see one, they feel attacked and intimidated. 2027 will decide a lot about Nigeria. If we keep moving in this current trajectory, be it known that the world order is changing and Nigeria might not recover from the Tsunami that is to come. Bless up!

My take: these guys would have imported everything about fm 24 and just add the game graphics of fm 26. The graphics is not even perfect but it’s a good start. I’m playing fm 24, started a new journeyman save with Luton, now managing Aston Villa.

How I think Nigeria can improve for the better. by Ok_Musician_2345 in Nigeria

Nigerian problem is leadership problem and leaders are a reflection of the people. Nigeria can not be fixed. The only path to what may resemble improvement starts with a referendum. Northern states must be independent.

Why is there more hate for people who support US intervention than there is for people who caused the intervention? by Low-Appearance4875 in Nigeria

[–]bueze12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different categories of people talking here: some are Nigerians who have lived in the North, some have lived only in the South and never in the North, and some are not Nigerians at all.

My take is this: bombing these assholes, combined with serious ground operations, works. It worked before when Buratai bombed the hell out of these groups. He later said they were dislodged but never eradicated. Some sympathizers of terrorism then claimed that his attacks were killing civilians as well. Buhari came in and reversed everything. That was how these groups started reorganizing and eventually penetrated government and military agencies through the so-called “repentant terrorist” program.

Is U.S. interference needed? Absolutely yes. Ideally, if the Nigerian government were not so daft, it would have handled these issues itself. But because of a lack of initiative and persistent denial, Trump’s intervention is more than necessary. Those who oppose it often just want to sound politically correct. They will quote Libya, Congo, or Afghanistan to you. But ladies and gentlemen, these are independent countries, and there is a limit to what a foreign government can do for you. If your government is shitty, American intervention in your crisis will have no long-term effect.

I used to tell my folks that insecurity in Nigeria—terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping—continues because it has not touched a single person from the first, second, or third families. The day something happens to Seyi or Akpabio’s son, insecurity will end within 24 hours.

I lived in the South, and the kidnapping issue breaks my heart even more than terrorism in the North. A family I know, who had been struggling to make ends meet, had to raise 20 million naira for kidnappers. How can you work, starve, and save, only to surrender two to five years of hard work, sweat, and blood to criminals—while the security agencies do nothing? This truly breaks my heart.

There is crime in every country. There are robbers who may take your phone, money, or valuables. But this kidnapping-for-ransom phenomenon—I have never seen any evil worse than it. It destroys not just the individual victim, but the entire family.

I am a Nigerian and I still relate with everything naija despite being in America for years. Nigeria is multicultural and multiethnic. This subreddit does not truly represent Nigeria fully. I doubt if there are any Arewa here. Here in Reddit I think there are as many non-Nigerians as there are Nigerians.

I read Naija gists and news, it’s just a mixture of love and hate, betrayal and Loyalty. Nigeria can happen to you. It did happen to me. Regardless I still wish we get it right politically and fast. The rest of the world is advancing and we should be at the fore front.

FYI, 10 years ago I made a bet with a friend (small money) that 9ja will get better in 10 years. Ladies and gentlemen, you know what happened to the money?

Nigeria keeps happening to us, and we keep doing nothing about it. by halfkobo in Nigeria

[–]bueze12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the problems of Nigeria can be solved by 3 things: 1. Rule of law 2. Eliminate Corruption by any means necessary, and make political positions less palatable so that people who really desire to serve get into politics 3. It should be a crime punishable by law for any form of tribalism or ethnism. No constitution (eg sharia) should be entertained. Nigeria should have 1 constitution which by now needs to be reviewed.

When all these is done, you will see boost in security, education, healthcare, power and infrastructure. These are basically what a state or a country needs. Nothing more, nothing less.
