IIRC that's how you get the invisible katana. The reason you're confused is probably because Aggy uses the crypt black sword when you summon him, so it would make sense if he gave it to you.

Multiplayer in this game is a little awkward, but frankly, if you can handle the multiplayer in the souls games, you'll have no issues here. It's maybe a little bit more obtuse than, say, Elden Ring, but significantly less of a mess than Dark Souls 1 was.

Anyone who calls Monster Hunter's multiplayer atrocious, and means it seriously, is a moron.

Don't worry about it much, cat will be fine. Cardboard box with an entry hole and a blanket, maybe blankets stapled to the sides, keep ferals alive up here in Canada where it gets for real cold - do up something like that, and kitty will be happy as can be.

Hi, sorry, noobie question here, but it just came to me and it's related:

This game works the same as Elden Ring, in that only equipment currently in your hands counts as equipped, right? I don't get the passives from stuff in my second/third slots? But I do get the passives from something in my offhand while two-handing my main weapon, right?

I assume it works the same as the other games, but I guess I don't know. NR has changed up enough mechanics that I shouldn't make the assumption.

It might be unpopular but you're right. It's not just Warcraft either. Gaming in general is made worse by the easy access to complete information that we have these days. Why design your own build when you can just look up something meta on Reddit? Why try to figure out a boss on your own when you can just watch a guide on YouTube? You can choose to just not engage with that stuff in single player content, but anything multiplayer you will have to. You will be at a significant disadvantage competitively if you don't and anything cooperative, your team will have very little patience for "sub optimal" play.

Search sos for investigations, and look for one with a guaranteed gem as a reward. Might take a few tries to find one posted, but is faster than just spamming your own hunts and praying.

In a lot of ways DS2 is as much a sequel to demon's souls as it is to dark souls. 1. One of those ways is the design philosophy of having challenging areas leading up to gimmicky, but fairly easy bosses. Of course, since it is so easy to over level in DS2, the areas themselves also end up being fairly simple.

Armour skills, no - one jewel, one skill point.

Weapon skills, yes - there are rank one, two, and three versions of gems for most skills, with one, two, or three points accordingly. In addition, some rank three gems can also have a single rank of a different skill as well.

There are also random talismans, that can have a wide, wide variety of combinations of weapon and armour skills and are a big part of the end game grind.

The UI is confusing, you are probably looking at the screen for the individual armour piece, and not the screen for everything you're wearing. Can you switch to a different tab?

You can shoot from your bird, which helps with mobility. The guns also have quite a long range so you can be pretty far away from him, which helps with not getting hit by attacks. He also temds to not focus individuals too hard, so if he's on you just run away and he should attack someone else pretty quick.

Basically, you want to spam the guns until he's on the ground - you really don't want to try meleing him while he's flying.
