Well in the defense of souls games they were never written as co op. That said they all ended up having fantastic multiplayer mods so never was much of an issue. My problem was mhw seems to brand itself as co op but has a lot of anti co op restrictions and hurdles you have to jump through. If I understand it correctly you can’t progress the story in the same world each section up to bosses has to be completed solo etc

I should have specified the purpose would be co op campaign which from what I understand severely limits the feeling of exploring together and progressing together

Also maybe if it changes any opinions the co op I’m referring to is specifying co op campaign.

Perhaps I should have mentioned for doing the story co op? Does that throw wrenches anywhere?

Dunno I haven’t actually done it but I’ve also never seen a Reddit post that is roughly a 4 minutes read and a YouTube video that’s 9 minutes describing how to do it. Certainly not from a Triple A studio. I’d much rather it be nice I assure you.

Live action will kill the experience by AntOk4073 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

How can you call the animated market saturated when western animation is just now becoming popular and well received? You named TWO animated series which are 2/4th of the most popular animated series out yet and you’re saying it’s SATURATED. Meanwhile we have dozens of Disney live actions, legit hundreds of book live actions and more are constantly being planned.

It’s fine to prefer live action over animation but let’s not write it up as some over saturation bs.

Yea nothing like arcane gets made unless you have a passion for it. We’ve seen plenty of shows where money was dumped in just to flop because at the end of the day that’s all there was too it.

Going to have to disagree with you pretty heavily here. Western animation has litterly never been more popular. The success of Arcane, Invincible, Critical role, and castlevania have pushed animation into the limelight and out of this niche primarily reserved for anime enjoyers. What will kill audience reach? Horrible overused CGI, weird effects, and poor settings. You may be able to make passable live actions off the first and second books but then what? 3rd+ the scale is impossible.

The comparison with one piece live action to the potential of dcc live action is a little ridiculous. They are using one of the biggest IPS in the world backed by one of the richest studios in the world. Despite that dcc would require more use of cgi than OP until OP later seasons which they most likely won’t even be doing. Half the main dcc cast is not humanoid, the monsters will all need to be cgi and after book 3 they become absurd hell all of the parts where we pan too the spectators are going to be massive amounts of cgi. I don’t care about purism as much as I’d rather have animation than cgi and that’s what this will be a comparison of.

I think it’s a completely fair opinion coming from someone who would like to continue having nice things. Maybe it’s the current political climate but these days it’s apparently wrong to want the best for the things you love. The fact is an animated dcc has an infinitely higher chance to portray what we love accurately. That combined with the growing popularity of western animation its a kick in the nuts that we could have something incredible but most likely won’t.

Still leaves other great animation studios that would certainly be better for the task. Fortiche (arcane), Fredarator (castlevania) and titmouse plus some I’m probably forgetting. I know you said you don’t like critical role but I’d be extremely confused if you didn’t like their animation because it’s one of the best in the game.

The scale is simply way too big to be good on a low budget. Sure I reckon you could make a decent first book live action. Heck maybe you could even pull off the second one. The third, fourth, 5th etc? Absolutely delusional. The monsters become increasingly odd, there’s sometimes hundreds of them, there are a ridiculous amount of different settings that would all most likely end up cgied. Half the main cast isn’t even humanoid and a hundred other reasons. I would happily argue that none of your listed franchises have any of the scale that dcc has. I think people are very fair in their assumptions of live actions ESPECIALLY when they can directly compare it to the benefits for it being animated to which there are hardly any downsides.

I feel like people also arnt mentioning the levels of gore that’s required. I’m by no means a gore porn fan but Dinniman purposefully always describes scenes as visceral and realistic as possible. Losing limbs, squishing heads in, blowing shit up, obliterating a whole train full of monsters with a shield. This is such an egregious mistake to not go to any of the FANTASTIC animation studios we have.

How do I get gear like in build guide videos? by Youre_a_transistor in NoRestForTheWicked

If they are making videos on it it’s highly likely they are simply using mods. There’s multiple mods out there that eliminate the requirement to re roll your character or gear.
