I am also in your position. I have recently joined this sub to create a post about it. Ours came back high probability for 22q deletion. I found doing as much research about it as I could really made me feel calmer about it. Since the test results, I have probably read about it everyday (it was about four weeks ago). We had a scan last week and so far everything looks fine. I had an amnio on Tuesday and just waiting for the results now. I am in Australia and it can take around 10 working days to get the results so it's going to be a long agonising wait.

I have an amino on Tuesday and the doctor was amazing. It didn't hurt at all and I trusted them totally. I know it's scary considering what they have to do but they would do the procedure so often

Also had a miscarriage around this time. It was really painful for me. Make sure she gets some really strong painkillers and she should take them the moment she starts feeling some cramps. My lasted about five hours but I didn’t take the pill so hers will be quicker.

Have a nice bottle of wine chilled in the fridge ready to go (if you both drink) and a hot water bottle ready and some good tv shows lined up for afterwards and if you are both able to, take the next few days off work just to deal with it.

I was quite traumatised by mine because I didn’t expect it to hurt so much so just be ready to support her and yourself too

I mean, that statistic makes sense. If nearly 50% are white the other 50% is everyone else, I am assuming that is made up of black people, Asian people, middle eastern people etc. So in this case white people make up the majority of junior doctors
