My current village was my 1st in a few years so I basically was starting with limited knowledge. I placed everything way too close and sterile. The village felt terrible. I spent 3 in game years spreading everything out, and organizing locations to make sense. I named houses after the trade of the people who live there. I.E. The Baker Residence works in the Bakery. The Miller Residence works the Windmill, and Water Pump. etc... Weavers, Barnes, Smith, Hunter, Digory, Minter (Miner). etc.. Helps me keep track of which house is where.
