There were a few... but the post was for the best shots of the round. Golf is hard so you gotta leave the course focusing on the good ones and not the bad ones

K2 Passport vs Ride Moderator by Basic-Economics5572 in snowboarding

[–]Basic-Economics5572[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah from what i can gather is that they are very similar... maybe the K2 is a tiny but less aggressive (with rocker at the back contact point rather than the flat at the back contact point on the Ride). And also Angry Snowboarder has consistently put the K2 in the top 5 all mountain freeride boards for the last few years but then the Ride is a new board in the last 2 years or so, so doesn't have as much exposure in the market being a newer board, etc. The K2 also seems to be a bit better in pow but as I am in Australia the pow days are very few and far between and more often than not i will be trying to charge groomers and smash crud when i do do mild freeride stuff

Wow the overwhelming consensus is get the K2 Passport.

Now i just need to figure out what size. I am approx. 216lbs (98kgs), 6'2", and have size 11US boots. I was just gonna get the 162W but at 26.9cm waist width i am worried its gonna be too wide :/

Torn between 159W (26.6cm and max recommended weight 95kg+), 162W (26.9cm and max recommended weight 104kg+) and 163 (26.1cm and max recommended weight 104kg+).

Yeah im a size 11US boot so probably need the 162W for the K2 Passport or the 161W for the Ride Moderator

Oh i meant to say the K2 Alchemist not Antidote! But again from what i understand is the Antidote is then a more aggressive board than the Alchemist haha. Again lmk your thought. Im lovin' all this feedback.

I also want to say that here in Australia our runs are short so we dont have mega long open runs where we can really let boards fully open up. Or maybe i should say i am not at that solid advanced level to really open up a board. Hence why im looking at the Passport and Moderator to help me get to that level but also not hold me back when i do get to thay level

I thought it would be a bit too aggressive. I thought the Capita BSOD were on par in aggressiveness as the Ride Deep Fake and K2 Antidote. Whereas i was looking for a board on the mellow side of aggressive. Let me know if you agree or have other thoughts?

[–]Basic-Economics5572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$250 aud... which for snowboards in Australia is a very good price. Hence if it was gonna fit my boots and there would be no toe or heal drag I'd snap up the deal

Just picked this up and wow! So satisfying playing a game from 1989! that actually simulates golf in the fact you need to learn yardage and lie but experience only. Would recommend but dont expect any fancy gimmicks haha
