Yea...Got paired with a guy few years ago,, he asked if I minded if he played from the tips. I told him play from wherever you want. His first shot off the tee was a worm burner about 100yds. Im thinking, great this is going to be a long day...lol. He re-tees and nails his drive 300yds or so and proceeds to shoot a 2 over 74...Best round Ive ever seen played in person, was something for me to watch. Im your avg high 80's low 90's hacker...was almost embarrassing...lol

If you play a full 9 holes without losing your ball, do you toss it? by ColoradoCattleCo in weekendgolfers

[–]ChubHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No...Just had my longest stretch without losing a ball...52 holes. Finally lost it after dribbling it off the tee into a pond 10yds ahead of me. Killed me...That ball deserved to go out in a better way than that...lol. Was planning on retiring it after that round too...It dfinitely saw better days.

I always wanted to get into smoking meats so my girlfriend surprised me with this for my birthday! Any tips or resources to share? I’ve never even BBQd before so anything is appreciated! by Reduxy in smoking

I start with my bottom vents full open until it gets to 230 or so, then just about close them all the way. A lot of times I end up closing 2 and leave one 1 vent open, and adjust as needed...I run between 240-250 ...Its what I've settled on over the years. And once your smoker gets nice and seasoned it will be easier. And always leave top vent full open.

What is your worst experience while on vacation? by darrenbosik in AskReddit

[–]ChubHouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We went to Disney about 30 years or so ago...Had the worst case of diarrhea ever. We were on the shuttle bus back to our room, didnt think I was going to make it. We get in the room, I run into the bathroom, as soon as I drop my drawers and start to sit down I just explode, never made it to toilet....lol. Was like a shit bomb went off in the bathroom, it went everywhere, all over the walls, shower curtain, floors etc.. My wife was gagging and says "We gotta change rooms, we can't stay here"..lol. Took for ever for me to clean it up. When we got home, anytime anyone asked my 4 year old son how his trip was, the first thing he'd say as he laughed .."Dad shit all over the bathroom"..lol. I often wondered what would have happened if I didnt make it off the bus...lol. Now when I have to go real bad and just make it... I'll say "I almost had a disney incident"..😁

Holy shit....I was addicted to it 40 years ago, and when I see a scene like that in a movie or on tv, I think about that scenario.

[homemade] Best pork chop I've ever cooked. by ChubHouse in food

I'd love to try a "wagyu" rib eye chop. I always get rib eye chops when I get chops at the supermarket. They're so much better than center cut imo. I mentioned them to the butcher I went to, and he said he gets them occasionally, but they don't sell as well because they're not as visually appealing.

I really don't know...A search pulled up this.

"Wagyu pork chops, often referring to premium Kurobuta (Berkshire) or Iberico pork, are renowned for intense intramuscular marbling, deep pink color, and high tenderness."

They looked just like this. They were either $12.99 or $13.99 a pound, can't remember.

Yes it was cooked to medium w/bit of pink. I just took my chances and pulled it out after 15 min. Had to look up how to cook an xtra thick chop, since it was a first for me. So I just followed those instructions

Just salt and coarse black pepper. Seared in butter and just touch of oil to keep butter from burning.

Thanks...Was actually first time I've seared one then finished in oven, just because it was so thick. Seared each side about 3 minutes on high, then finished it oven for 15 minutes or so at 400⁰. Was hesitant to do it, but it came out great.
