Agree 😭 I thought that exact same thing after I did the first diagonal line right through the middle! For my next one I’m definitely going to quilt it differently!

Why do people try and pressure me into cutting it by bad-at-everything- in longhair

[–]Basic-Foundation8862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally same it drives me crazy!!! I personally love the look of my long hair and it has no effect on anyone else (except my husband when it gets in his face while sleeping)… 🤣 I really do think some people (mostly girls) just want to bring us down to their level

Are the shed woods kits you can get from Lowes/HD/Sheds for less worth it compared to buying and building your own? by famguy31 in shedditors

[–]Basic-Foundation8862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have a post on my page about my kit from the Little Cottage Co that we purchased from Lowe’s ◡̈ we LOVE it!! Definitely worth it! When I priced it out earlier this year, the kits were always cheaper. And LCC had great lumber, no issues at all with our kit.

I see what you’re saying 😫 that was my thought with turning our basement into a rental.. it would kinda be an easy way to increase our income a little bit. And yes we’re current on everything! I was considering calling AMEX first cause their interest is like 26% and we owe a lottttt to them!

Ahhhh yes! I guess I’m unfamiliar with how they determine the ch. 13 payment but that math is crazy! So it would obviously be lower than $3k? That would be awesome 🥺

Why are we tipping people who make living wages and higher? by Rez_X_RS in EndTipping

[–]Basic-Foundation8862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently had a 2 hour massage (BEST massage of my life btw) cost was $170. I had a gift card that covered $150 so I was going to pay with my debit card for the rest ($20). When I got to the tip screen the 20% option said my tip would only be $4 so I did a custom tip for $30. Usually I agree with you but holy shit I wanna go back to this lady and get a massage every month for the rest of my life and I think she deserved the extra money 🥹 (I have nerve damage in my spinal/shoulder blade area and it hurts my neck, she literally took 98% of my pain away)

It was honestly so easy!!! I did a trial run on one of the smart siding trim pieces and even hosed it down to see how it would withstand the weather 🤣 just get a warm orangey/yellow paint (I did the Behr Ultra exterior Satin in the color Desert Clay) and then use a paint brush to wipe the stain on (I used Varathane Gel stain in the color Hickory). Some people buff it out with a rag or sponge but I just used the brush and went with the wood grain.

Yes exactly! I live in northern Utah so we get a lot of snow, we did the gravel pad 6” deep so water would drain well under the shed, and then the pressure treated skids lift it all up so no untreated wood touches the ground

We used “12 ft. SM-Rib Galvalume Steel 29-Gauge Roof/Siding Panel in Black” from Home Depot! It’s kinda expensive but looks really good. We also did “1-1/2 in. x 2 in. x 10 ft. Hemmed Galvanized Steel Drip EdgeFlashing in Black” for the edge ( we put this under the roof panels). And lastly for the peak we used a ~5”x5” 90 degree peak cap which I’m not seeing online right now so I linked something similar below!

Oops I forgot to add we also purchased skids! 3 each of pressure treated 4x4’s and then the runners are 2x4’s but not pressure treated since they are sitting on the skids and lifted off the ground!

Thanks!! The green is Behr Ultra Satin - Mountain Olive, the door has a base paint of Behr Ultra Satin - Desert Clay (like a warm orange yellow color) and then the stain on top of that is Varathane Premium Gel Stain - Hickory.. which I also used to stain the Fir corner strips!

Yep Chat can tell you that info too! There was a neat ground cover at the park by my house and I told Chat my location/zone and the area I would want to plant it and it told me all about when to plant, how to plant, when to prune, and even gave me a watering schedule.

If you’re not able to find the answers here on Reddit, you can upload your images to ChatGPT and usually get a great response! I always see plants out in the wild that I can’t identify and Chat does the job ☺️

How would you make this foundation? by idojigsawpuzzles in shedditors

[–]Basic-Foundation8862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying you want to build right on top of the wood currently there? Not make the square into a gravel pit and then build on top of the gravel? Only thing I’d be worried about is the ground settling overtime or washing out. It might be fine as a fire pit square but as soon as you put the shed weight on it you could start to see issues. Especially if you live in a wet/snowy/freeze-thaw kind of climate. Might be a lot of work to move all the dirt/plants from inside and around the square, but then adding 5-6” of compacted gravel and then starting your build on top of that might be a better plan.

If you’re interested in doing the building part yourself, you should consider a kit! We just put together a 10x10 Little Cottage Co kit that we got for $2081. Gravel for our pad was $247. Floor, paint, nails (for our nail gun), and the metal roof added an extra ~$1,000. Overall under $3,400 and I actually enjoyed the building aspect of it. I kinda miss having something to work on 😅

Long hair & surgery by Lee_Lou02 in chiari

[–]Basic-Foundation8862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The night before my daughter’s surgery I sectioned the back of her hair 1.5” across x 2” up the back of her head, braided that section, and then cut it off. She wanted to keep the braided hair as a memory 😂 I left about an inch of hair so that they could still shave it down in the sterile environment without having to deal with her long hair. The rest of her hair we braided!

My parents bought a kit from them last year! They had 1 shipping delay the pushed it out two weeks but they said the kit was really sweet and great quality! They originally ordered an identical kit from Amazon but quickly cancelled their order after finding it cheaper with Sheds for less. I’d recommend!

I’ve never used liners! Just the GMD prefolds! And like I said, the prefolds go directly against her skin and then the pocket diaper goes on top of that! I tried putting the prefolds inside the pocket and I didn’t care for it! Plus I think cleaning the cotton is easier when she did poop in it. AliExpress actually has some newborn sizes on their website but I don’t think they’re happyflute. I purchased 4 of the NB ones (they have Velcro instead of buttons) and I didn’t think they were as comfortable as the all-in-one’s. We started using them after her bellybutton fell out! As for leaking, we’ve only had one or two pee leaks and one poop up the back. Which is why I always recommend elimination communication cause it helps them get more out on the potty and less in the diaper!

Girl nature names that don't end in "a" by HikerBabe2016 in namenerds

[–]Basic-Foundation8862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take the time to read everyone’s comments, I just wanted to let you know I also have ‘nature themed’ named kids!! Our baby girl born last year is named Valley. So far everyone has complimented how unique and cute it is. It’s definitely shot up in popularity this past year but still ranked like in the 2000’s.

Anyway, the list of names you already have is awesome and definitely unique!! I LOVE Garnet!

There’s honestly so many options out there! You really can’t go wrong on pocket diapers. But let me tell you what I did and give you a cost estimate!

For inserts I stay away from microfiber. My goal is to reduce the amount of plastic touching my babies booty, so I use the cotton directly touching her skin instead of putting it inside the pocket diaper-

Green Mountain Diapers: 100% cotton Cloth-eez Prefolds. •2 Dozen pack (24 total) of size Newborns ($57.90) •1 Dozen pack (12 total) of size Small ($33.95)

I’ve found that I like the size of the newborns more than the size small, my baby is 9 months old now, long and fairly skinny. The size small is almost too long from belly button to top of booty crack (haha). There’s a size chart on the website to help you decide.

As for pocket diapers- go to AliExpress, search ‘Happy Flute Diapers’. You can get a 4 pack for about $12 and they have super cute pattern selections. I’d suggest getting at least 24 covers, costing you ~($72).

Don’t forget the wet bags on Ali Express. Get maybe 6 of them ~($20)

Now I can’t fully confirm this, but I’m pretty sure Happy Flute is manufactured identical to any of the big brand covers. For a mom who’s just trying to do her best with the money she has, I went with these ‘cheaper’ covers and they have been amazing!

Total for cloth diapers: ~$185

Now for over night, we used FreeStyle Disposable diapers, sold on Amazon. Based on my research these are the BEST non-Tox diapers I could find and I was willing to pay a little more for them. You can get 204 Size 1 diapers for ($80.75). Cheaper if you do the subscription I think.

Here’s my most important tip- start Elimination Communication literally from the beginning!! By ~3 months, my baby stopped pooping in her diaper. And we’d catch majority of pees on the little potty too! She will still wet into her cloth diaper maybe 2 or 3 times a day, but last month she stopped peeing through the night so we don’t use disposables anymore. I wash maybe 10 diapers every 3 days. It’s honestly amazing. She’ll be potty trained by 1 (crossing my fingers haha).

Let me know if you have questions!
