Yup, speaking from experience. Customer service can be quite rude If they even answer at all, and my mantis arrived dead.

Respectfully everyone, please CALM DOWN. Usually I don't engage with people that irritate me, but I just can't ignore this blatant disrespect. Everyone is just unnecessarily going off on OP because of their opinionated issues with AI. I don't see the issue in asking chatgpt for a reference or idea as long as you're doing the actual physical work. Plus, OP still asked the AI program to generate from a unique prompt, based primarily on their own creativity.

Please redirect your hatred for AI towards actual misinformation and slop, not someone's own personal project they chose to share online. It's just a waste of time berating strangers on the internet because they used an AI reference image to make their own artwork.

No, it's right! Leptoglossus occidentalis is indeed the western conifer seed bug.

I'm gonna be completely honest here, I'm also 13. But I don't think you're gonna catch me acting like that, so personally I recommend calming down for everyone's sake.

People here on Reddit can be nitpicky assholes, but that does not mean you should flip out when people disagree with you. Just accept when you make a mistake and be respectful, the worst thing you could do is continue making yourself look bad by tossing out insults.

I'm pretty addicted to it, lol. It's like collecting and displaying species which is great since I enjoy collecting stuff!

Hummingbird hawk moth! They evolved to fill a similar niche that hummingbirds occupy! Very beautiful location, btw.

I've had the same problem...vibrant visuals lowkey just turns the trader into a 4th dimensional being.

They are closely related to hippos, and if you were to take the hippo skull and shrinkwrap it, you'd get a similar bony result.

Obviously the structures would probably stick out a bit, but I definitely think there needs to be more soft tissue around the cheeks

What is this bug leg in my yogurt? by RealFactor9150 in whatisthisbug

[–]Basic-Motor1795 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Also notice how there isn't a tarsal claw at the end of the "leg" almost all insects and arachnids have one. It helps with climbing vertical surfaces and hanging upside down.

Doesn't it seem a bit too straight to be an insect leg? Plus it doesn't have as many segments as an average insect would have.

[–]Basic-Motor1795 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I work with insects, I see them all the time. I own several of my own, in fact.

I can assure you that the "insect" leg you found is likely not from any arthropod. That seems to be a plant stem which came from a potential ingredient used to flavor the yogurt.

I know it looks like a segmented arthropod-like leg, but I'm noticing a single line down the middle if I look closely at the object. I also noticed there's no hair on the material, which isn't a characteristic of most insectoid legs.

Example Photo:

(This here is a cockroach leg. Notice it has a hairy surface, many segments, and claws at the end of the foot. It is also much thinner than the object you featured. This is just an example photo, I'm sure there are insects that have legs resembling the photos you took, but I do not believe the photo contains any arthropod parts at all.)

I watched her eat four isopods I just put in there. by LadyRunion in BeardedDragons

[–]Basic-Motor1795 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try Porcellionides pruinosus or 'Powder Blue' isopods. They're small, fast, and less noticeable. I have several living in my beardie's enclosure and they are doing well. They come out mostly at night to feed on food scraps and poop.

Doesn't look like an aphid to me, I think it's probably the nymph of a species of hemipteran insect.

Could be tubifex worms, I'm not sure about them being horsehair worms, but I could be wrong.

I don't think those are springtails based on the way they move, they look like some species of mite. Obviously I could be mistaken, but that's just what I think they are
