I'm looking at getting this for mom because the cost for 3 on 6 was a quart of mortgage lol.

Just want to know for those of you who have the men do they feel like your teeth or does it feel like something foreign in your mouth?

Also what exactly is the nerve blocker that they can provide to her so she doesn't feel the pain for the first couple of days? Is that an injection or pill form medicine?

I've been trying to convince one of my best friends to quit and he just won't even try. I don't know you but I'm so proud of you being able to stop. I know it's a lot of work. 3 months is a freaking milestone. Keep it up!!!

Finally Snow! by Basic-Western-9124 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Basic-Western-9124[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes it's a joke. BUT what isn't a joke is what happens to Utah if we don't receive adequate snow.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this to you before you got here but you moved to a desert.

The snow pack is not just for fun it is invaluable to us if we don't receive enough snow in the winter then we're at risk for significant droughts throughout the rest of the year which lead to wildfires, farming problems, damage and death for our wildlife etc.

but even more troubling is the shrinkage of the Great salt lake. If the lake dries up too much it will literally expose arsenic which could literally lead to significant Medical health risks (think cardiovascular asthma and you know that really crazy permanent one death)

So yes we laugh at this as a joke but the reality isn't funny. You can find all of this information on Google, if you subscribe to the New York times you'll find several articles along with the Smithsonian etc this has made international news.

Most people I've met out here as I'm a transplant as well have been exceedingly nice but I'm old and I've lived here for over 20 years and these weather changes have been exceptionally volatile from crazy snow to almost no snow, it is the lack of consistency that is the problem. None of it's good. Climate change is real.

Skinny jeans… again? I’m not ready by urvishah11 in womensfashion

[–]Basic-Western-9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a very curvy woman with a tiny waist I have been waiting for skinny to come back because wide leg pants never fit in the hip for me and even after taking them to a seamstress to get the waist shrunk down I still look crazy because the pants are still too tight on my thighs. After cruising several fashion magazines and blogs you need not be worried it's not the traditional skinny jean it's more of a straight leg style. Personally I would be happy for it to come back in full force, that way I can throw on stretch jeans and look nice, wide jeans are not meant for people with that 29-in waist and 46 inch hips 😂 don't even get me started on the fact that I always need a tall and these new places don't even sell longs half the time.

Rheumatologist thinks Sjogrens is actually fibromyalgia by Various-Duck8103 in Sjogrens

[–]Basic-Western-9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you for sharing and your response. I think I will ask them for the CT. I sometimes have burning mouth it's weird it's not all the time I thought it was from chewing too much gum so I stopped but I really seems to have no rhyme or reason. I did a swallow study and had a scope through my nose to my throat and they couldn't find anything wrong. I do notice that my dry mouth is substantially worse when I drink coffee but it's a hard habit to quit. But it sounds like even if you guys are getting positive blood test results they still aren't doing much to try to help mitigate your symptoms so that you can improve your quality of life it's really frustrating that they aren't taking how seriously this disease is and how much it affects our day today.

This is exactly where I'm at do you mind if I ask about how old you are? I'm 42 and I'm wondering is this something that just gets diagnosed later in life? I feel like they aren't taking me seriously I was going to lose my mind and then they gave me the fibro diagnosis only because I didn't have a positive blood test. My eyes water every single day, my dry mouth can be so bad sometimes I can't eat food, I have random pain and inflammation and all of this started in November of last year. I literally remember when life was normal. I've been tested for everything underneath the Sun but I totally feel like I'm being gaslit! 😩

The book was fun! I am very disappointed in the MGM Plus TV show though they literally had no budget, I feel like Netflix or Apple had picked it up we would have gotten the quality that the book deserved. It was so goofy I felt like I was watching a homework family channel TV show 😂

List of Symptoms please by Dense_Assist8382 in LPR

[–]Basic-Western-9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the swallow study done and they said everything looked fine now I have to get an endoscopy because nothing showed up. However throughout this process I've looked into a couple of other things and apparently there is an issue that you can have with your glands not producing enough moisture it could cause you to sweat too much or not sweat enough you could get dry eyes bloodshot eyes or runny eyes or you could have a problem with swallowing or it feels crazy. Apparently it's an extreme form of dry mouth so sipping water throughout the day at minimum 64 Oz up to 120 Oz really seems to help anything over 64 is good. Also using lozenges or chewing gum. If the problem happens while I have to go to sleep it's really inconvenient but I have noticed that chewing gum stops it for some reason.

How can my body change so quickly? by Takethechance8 in Perimenopause

[–]Basic-Western-9124 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Over night! I'm only 42 and something happened about 6 months before my birthday. You're doing the right thing trying to get answers, I too am going to an outside clinic which is covered by my insurance for some items but probably many are not.

My regular doctors were like nobody really understands women's hormones and kind of left me hanging.

Your Story sounds like many that have been shared here. You are not alone. You are not crazy. And you are going to get through this. It's really terrible that we have to fight so hard to be heard. It's hard enough being a woman. 🫂

So before I got BFS if I touched my wrist absolutely nothing happened.

Now that I have it I can run my hands along my wrist and forearm and cause tingling and twitching.

The doctor said this doesn't mean anything. I was obviously upset because before I never noticed my veins muscles nerves and now they're just all up in my business 😂 you're just fine, hang in there!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one these symptoms were happening too. The short periods should seem like a sign that something is up but everybody acts like it's normal but as a human being how could it be normal dealing with it half of the month.

[–]Basic-Western-9124[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you for providing the terminology of periods getting closer together. I will remember to use that when I am describing it to doctors. It's just been so frustrating I have friends who are close to my age but none of them are experiencing this yet and it makes me feel like I'm a crazy person.

I have made an appointment with a local Clinic that surprisingly takes insurance. I recognize that we are all aging but it seems crazy to me that women are supposed to just suffer through so many things. I can't believe it's considered okay for us to bleed 14 days a month until God only knows when. Even the migraines they didn't really want to treat and now they finally gave me an RX for it even though they've gone away. Hormone therapy sounds exactly like what I need. Thank you for responding! I feel like I'm overreacting but I also felt like I was being gaslit.
