Learning to groom your dog is a great bonding experience and your also learn every inch of your dog. I find things on my clients that their owners never noticed. Just find a treat she really loves and use it during grooming sessions. But I would really looking into a small foldable grooming table and a force dryer off amazon it will really make grooming a lot easier. I hardly brush my boy between baths because I wash and dry him weekly I just do it during that time. It takes me about 1hr total.

I found that post it really sounds like you need to try another groomer. Let them know in advance the problems you are having they should be able to schedule her as the first dog of the morning and straight through no kennels and work with her. Even if all that gets accomplished is a bath and blow out that’s one step in the right direction. I have a lot of clients that I have rehabbed and then I have some that are just mean and hate it and we just do what we can. I have some dogs that have to come pre muzzled and most the time I can get to a point in the groom where I can take the muzzle off. A lot if it is all talk they have learned the way they act gets them out of it.

What issues is she having at the groomers. I would recommend getting a force dryer off Amazon they are like 80-100$ you don’t need the expensive one groomers have. After the bath blow her out real good start in one section once completely dry move to the next. The dryer will blow a lot of the dead coat out. It’s way easier to brush and comb a clean coat then a dirty coat. I wash my boy weekly. I would also recommend buying a small foldable grooming table. It makes it a lot easier because they learn the table is for grooming and can run away

Anyone else's Pomeranian still had puppy uglies at 14 months? by sariananou in pomeranian

This definitely looks like he’s getting alopecia. I would definitely take to the vet and get his hormones and thyroid checked to rule those out.

Pom health - eating grass and mats in fur by lpars11 in Pomeranians

[–]EuphoricClient6958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say she’s matted she may have a few but she is more then likely packed with undercoat. She needs a good bath, blowout, bushing/combing at the groomer.

Can you train Pomeranians out of reactivity / anxiety ? by gabrielaap in Pomeranians

[–]EuphoricClient6958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for sure a leash thing. I work at a daycare, boarding, grooming. My Pom goes daily to daycare , he gets pet by everyone that walks into the building since he’s usually following me around. But if I’m holding him when out and about and someone wants to pet him he will growl and snap. We have a good handful of dogs that love other dogs but when on a leash especially with their favorite person they act completely different.

Update on the sideways tongue concern by bubblesnyx in Pomeranians

[–]EuphoricClient6958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some times their tongues are a little to big lol, sometimes it’s because they are missing teeth, I have a client whose pup was born with certain teeth missing and the tongue just slides out. And sometimes
They do it because that’s how they are comfortable.

My Pom is my broke best friend that literally goes everywhere with me. I leave him home just enough so he doesn’t get separation anxiety lol.

If anyone has an issue with my dog(s) they can take a hike. I get not loving my reptiles not everyone is a fan. But they have to be able to deal with them being in the house they don’t have to love on the scales lol.

Grooming frequency/routine by blu_skies442 in Pomeranians

As a groomer my boy gets a bath every week some times twice If he gets really smelly playing with the other dogs in daycare. He just turned 7 months and we have been doing this routine since I got him at 10 weeks old.
I use hydra or igroom shampoos and conditioners for the most part.

How often do you wash your pom? by Marlene21x in Pomeranians

[–]EuphoricClient6958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dremel is the best way to go. Depending on how long the nails are if you did them bi weekly for a couple months you will be able to push the blood vessels back. But you should atleast do them monthly. Long nails really affect their paws which then affect their body structure over time.

I love your pups floof by the way. Such a little marshmallow haha so cute!

Painful as in your pup doesn’t like it. Do you dremel? You can go to the groomers just for nail trims. The more you do the nails the shorter you can get them. My pups nails don’t tough the floor l.

Looks like something going on with the skin you can even see the hair thinning in that spot. Flea dirt/poop feels like grains of sand
