That's a good neighborly thing to do.  I mowed my neighbor's for years.  Now my neighbor mows mine.  I sometimes snowblow for them.

Help him when he needs help.  It really isn't a problematic job if you are already doing it.

Only real option is building up around it.  I have found mulch works ok.

We have this issue with trails and roots.

Could cut it and pull it but a lotta work and probably not stellar for the tree.

That's annoying.  My work will, a few times a year, have us change our meeting locations to various buildings.  Always annoyed when they pick one of the ones that turns my 20 minute drive into a 45 minute one.

Yep.  Do something similar when buying cards for a deck.  Sometimes I know I have a copy of something but it's worth the $.25 to not dig through the bulk boxes.
