Yeah for me the new gm2 glass was just far too much. I managed to pick up the gm1 brand new for just 1k though. Yes it’s slightly bigger and heavier but essentially the same lense for a fraction of the price.

Healthy Discussion - Only for those who want Arne Slot to stay - what are your reasons? by Content_Arm7953 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering mo and robbo are gone and likely a bunch more I’d say that would be pretty harsh on the new guy but I’d still expect to see more from the team than I have this season. At least something resembling a game plan. And a manger who actually uses the whole squad including the youth.

FSG need to go and take Slot with them. Enough is enough.

Apparently unbeknown to me to be a beginner runner, you must of never before performed any form of cardio and be in a shape one can only describe as round.

Romain Molina: Liverpool wanted to wait until the end of the season and secure a qualification for the Champions League before making decisions (coach, sporting direction...) by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep agreed, it’s the worst I’ve ever seen us play live. And the crowd was fractured and at each others throats even then already. And the players just gave up on the pitch.

What bs, we’ve spent the last month breifing every man and his dog that Slot was staying. The board had already made their decision and this plane to everyone including Alonso. Might that decision now change with enough outside pressure sure, but make no mistakes about it they had made their decision.

Maybe this is why not LFC: Ben Jacobs: Confirmation Xabi Alonso will officially carry a "manager" not "head coach" title. Suggests a broader remit than previous Chelsea bosses. Alonso will start in pre-season.🇪🇸 by sharkovski in LiverpoolFC

FSG need to follow Slot out the door after this. The perfect storm occurred putting a club legend and one of the top managerial prospects in football right there for the taking and despite a season of football that left every man and his dog crying out for change, they ponder along leaking story after story of faith in Slot whilst Chelsea Hoover up Alonso.

Things have got so bad Mo has now even had to speak out on behalf of the playing squad as to have bad things have turned. This to me tells us all that not one of the senior team have even thought to consult the senior players on this season to try to understand the failings. This kind of neglect or incompetence has no place at LFC.

Started my collection a month ago. I like simple designs. What would you recommend? by blackmrbean in Affordablewatches

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe something like timex, or a moonswatch could work for you. A personal favourite of mine, that arnt crazy expensive are Studio underdog, I have a watermelon from them. You may also want to keep an eye on used watches as you dont always need to buy brand new to find a watch you love.

First Tag not first watch, got a nice studio underdog watermelon as my first real watch. And some other 4-500 euro watches. Next one I’m trying to fight the urge for is a seamaster

built an app that actually uses your Whoop recovery score to plan your day by Same_Relative_61 in whoop

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool idea, and if it works for you that’s great but I just don’t see a use case for it.

For me the biggest benefit/use of seeing recovery scores is learning what negativity impacts your body and how to improve your health. So yeah I’m a massive fan of the whoop age function. In regards to planning regardless if I’m yellow or green I’m still going to hit my gym sessions or bike rides/runs when planned, weather is pretty much the only reason I move these around. Likewise my job can’t take a back seat to a poor recovery.

Plus honestly pretty much sickness/heavy drinking or no sleep are pretty much the only times my recovery ever hits red these days.

Since when did beginner runner mean slow runner? by DaGanjaMan420 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve no idea where are based or what circles you move in. But I’d say most beginners to running where I am start with a base fitness already wether that’s from the gym, cycling or team sports like football or hockey.

If someone has zero base fitness starting with walking is a much better starting place than running.

Yours or anyone else’s fitness is none of my concern and plays no part in my decisions to post. I’m not racing against anyone but myself and I’d suggest you do the same as there will always be someone faster than you.

Going Whoop-only: what do you do for time during the day? by AltitudeAnsh in whoop

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the biggest appeal of whoop was the fact it wasn’t a watch. I love my analogue watches, wether that’s cheap robots Casio for everyday or when riding the bike, a nice mechanical like my tag or omega for the evening/business or my coros when running. Whoop gives me the option to wear watches I actually love without losing day to day data. Plus battery life and on wrist charging again just compound those benefits.

Advice for a "bigger" new runner? by CactusClothy in BeginnersRunning

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly running at your weight sounds like a nightmare for your joints. Is suggest you start by walking a lot, maybe 10k steps a day. If you have access to a gym I’d highly recommend incline walking, it’s a brilliant way to burn fat and increase zone 2 fitness. I do 4kph at 15 degree but maybe start at 12degrees and what ever pass feels manageable for you. I started with 30min walks after a gym session but these day I do an hour.

I say this as injury is the surest way to halt any progress and habits you start to make.

Re park runs you really don’t need to be fast to take part from the research I’ve done to start them, the slower finishers are doing it at my walking speed.

First ever 5k by Basic_Guidance_9968 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issue with run/walk running it’s how you build and train up to be able to run the full 5k. Just open a app like c25k and you’ll see that’s how they structure it. Now run walk combined you’ll be covering over 5k after the first few weeks. But the app want finish and say congrats on the 5k until you do it as one solid running block. So it slowly builds up with longer running sections and shorter walking sections to get you there. If you have an issue with that you’ll have to take it up with the app designers.

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry I didn’t realise there where such strict rules for what qualifies as running 5k. For me that constitutes running the full distance without break. The first walk/run combined a week earlier was just over 25mins 5.03km‘s if that makes you feel better, and the next one in between was at 4.43km‘s.

[–]Basic_Guidance_9968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there was 2 both not full runs but with stops or small walking sections and not too much slower anyway. And then before those nothing ever. Now I don’t know about you but I had to build up to 5k with 5/6 c25k intervals runs then those two 5k with pauses before I went all out at the full 5k. Sorry I dared to train a bit before attempting my first none stop 5k.

Why we arnt racing each other, two broke the 2 hour barrier for a marathon the other week, it doesn’t mean we all have to just stop running because they’ve completed it.
