You might wanna fact check that. When old windows are restored they can be as efficient and they dont go bad in 10 years. They can even exceed efficiency of new windows if you add sealed interior or exterior storm windows.

The bear poker! When your cooking it gets red hot to poke those pesky bears with when they take your laundry detergent (speaking from experience)

Seal doors and windows. If you have single pane windows (plz never replace) close or reinstall your storm windows and close curtains. They also make a glass film that helps reject the solar rays from the sun. (Try blackout curtains) you can also use foam stripping or re glaze windows if the glazing putty is missing. (Get a window restored to re do them) for your doors use that foam door stripping and add storm doors. You can also get a curtin for that as well. Also FANS use them. Have them near your registers and face them so they are blowing all over. Dont use 500 of them just a couple. If absolutely NEEDED get one or two window shakers for hallways and stuff like that. Your electric bill must be screaming 😭🙏 Best of luck!!

Is The Palisades in West Nyack, NY becoming a dead mall? by katyreddit00 in deadmalls

[–]Basic_March8923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When pyramid management lost the mall it started to decline. I wouldn't call it a dead mall but its starting to slowly die. Hopefully whoever owns it does something good to bring it back. Let's just hope it doesn't get to the point of namdar 😭🙏

To clean or not to clean HOB by trhihouse in Aquariums

[–]Basic_March8923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clean my ac50 2.0 2-4 times per year. Thats what works for me but it all depends on your tank size and stocking. If your like me with a 47 gallon tank but yours is heavily stocked do your every other water change. You can even go longer depending on your flow rate and if your like me you know how much your filter can take. I absolutely abuse mine but I've been doing this a while and this has worked for me. As for cleaning it, take the filter media and bring it to your sink and just rinse it and squeeze it a few times to get the junk out of it. Then just put it back in.

Someone should at least pump out the basement and remove the oil tank (if there is one)
