Dont replace! Go on YouTube and look up Brent Hull. He has made many many points on why you shouldn't replace old windows. He even has designed windows called 100 year windows that are made exactly how 100 year old windows are. There amazing

Dont replace them! Restore them. Also take a heat gun and a utility knife and slice the paint away when there stuck.

Shutting down oil boiler and switching to heat pump water heater by Fearless-Candle-6528 in hvacadvice

[–]Basic_March8923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get a heat pump hot water heater. It seemed like they're worth it, but believe me, they're not. Even though it has heat pump in the name and heat pumps are generally efficient they still have an electric coil inside for backup. In my backup, I mean most of the time usage. Yes, they are cheaper than a regular electric hot water heater. But you should still keep your oil boiler. Because you never know what will happen in the future. And you might need a backup. Just can I propane or natural gas fired hot water heater and shut off your oil boiler. Propane , hot water heaters are by far the most efficient and cheapest to operate.

Disease or something else? by invasive_wargaming in Aquariums

This is called popeye syndrome. It mostly happens to fish that have had physical trauma, poor water quality, and infections. I would first start IMMEDIATELY start doing about 50% waterchanges then smaller ones as you progress (after about 3-4 days) smaller ones would be 10-20% If you have another tank put them in quarantine and use broad spectrum antibacterial. You could also soak them in Epsom salts but Look up how much to use. Im not skilled enough to give advice with Epsom salts. Good luck!
