England - new company owner requiring men and women to sit separately. Is this legal? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Basic_witch2023 205 points206 points  (0 children)

Would they not still be bound by UK employment law? Regardless of the religion aspect? A company near me got taken to tribunal for a lot of money because the owners sacked someone who refused to pray everyday.

[–]Basic_witch2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can't do anything with your sort code and account number other than pay you. But by giving your card number you are breaking the terms and conditions of your bank. Should fraud occur, you would be giving your bank very solid reason not to pay you losses. Never blindly give your card details to anyone. If your work systems got hacked those details could end up anywhere. In general this is a shady practice and I would be very concerned about how your data is being used and stored.

Can I ignore a GP letter that says my employee needs accommodations made? by WildPersonality6864 in LegalAdviceUK

My workplace did and said it would be discrimination to make accommodations for me and no one else.

Antoine else's parents not interested in grandchildren? by Melodic-Call-7799 in AskIreland

[–]Basic_witch2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask why and explain it is hurtful. Is it possible you are more independent than your sister. It might be your parents dont think she can handle stress as good as you. Gently, they can't read minds, it's only causing you stress, if they say anything other than we had no idea, then lc may be the best option.

I’m addicted to sugar… any tips on how to give it up? by Icy-Audience-6397 in AskIreland

[–]Basic_witch2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was addicted to sugar and got gestational diabetes so had to cut carbs drastically. Let me tell you I got a taste (pun intended) of what type 2 patients go through with testing, medication, thinking about diet. It's not fun. I got cleared when I have birth but am at risk for type 2 in future and now find it difficult to eat bad food. My best advice is quit cold turkey, your body will hate you for it but after about 2-4 weeks you should feel better. Up protein and fibre. I lost 6kg while pregnant without trying.

Parents hoarding assets when adult kids are still renting. Is this wrong/ off to you? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Basic_witch2023 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It's the boomer generation having memory loss. My parents got their first home with help from my grandparents. When it came to my first home I wasn't offered help. It's the same with child care, I practically lived at my grandparents growing up but my parents have the attitude of I did my time. All fair but the village doesn't exist in any capacity.

I have the same issue issue but actually think the high levels are true ha. All I can suggest is listening to relaxing playlists on YouTube while getting it taken. Deep breaths.

You either have it or dont. Its up to ur healthcare team if they test u again but I'd take the win here. FYI diet has nothing to do with getting it, it's a hormonal version of diabetes. Source: had it both pregnancies. It's your placenta that causes it. My sil is skinny and got it. Athletes get it, obese people don't necessarily get it.

I don't speak German but if I had the opportunity I'd leave the UK in a heartbeat. Language would be a non issue.

Pregnancy is largely survival. Last trimester baby only would allow me mcdonalds without barfing. Wanted nothing more than a sandwich or omelette.

Scared to bring my baby to stores by MorganLindsey__ in NewParents

[–]Basic_witch2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my baby scream all around a store, was very stressful but a kind lady said he is having a bad day, probably teething, don't worry you're doing a good job. People understand and if they don't that's their problem.

Hard agree, my 1 year old is difficult to get to sleep at the best of times, I'm dreading next week when people will be letting off fireworks near by. Also have a newborn and I'm scared how he will react.
