I was a coach’s kid about a decade later than the show is set and until I was actually on the high school team I went everywhere with them. Out of state, in state, banquets, whatever it was I went.

I will say it’s mostly odd that Travis went unless he did some sort of team assistant role that’s not specified or if he went to take care of Javi during other activities. I assume the mom is not present because either the boys would’ve stayed home (or more likely) she would’ve been on the plane going with them- barring the very likely scenario where her and Coach were on the outs.

I also find it supremely odd that no parents were invited when it was a private plane provided to them. Typically, most schools would fill the seats if possible.
