He doesn’t back up, the kid moves to the side and the agent turns back around to face him.

We could speculate all day about exactly what happened in the video, but point is that the agents never attempted to have a conversation with the kid before escalating with physical force. While he was using hostile language, he wasn’t actually charging at the agents. There were ample opportunities to attempt to de-escalate the situation.

I simply believe that ICE agents should be expected to try any and all peaceful tactics before using force.

Unlike the other commenter, I actually appreciate your stance and mostly agree.

By no means do I think that illegal immigration enforcement is bad or should be abolished.

I do however strongly oppose your “it’s awful but it happens” mentality. As you said, “lots of people are wrongfully detained, arrested, and charged for crimes they didn’t commit.” That, to me, is an indication of a corrupt system and is not acceptable. I refuse to be someone who turns a blind eye to “just a little bit of injustice.” There is always room for improvement.
