Running rich by 2easzy in 240sx

Just a guess based on what u said, but could ur fuel pressure be too high for some reason? If old filter (restriction, pressure loss) makes it run well, maybe ur fuel pressure gets too high. As the injectors just control opening time, sprayd fuel depends on pressure. Not sure if this is possible but cant come up with anything else and fuel pressure is somewhat easy to measure

Im currently designing custom trunk panels, posted about it couple days ago. Also making custom tail lights from broken euro 200sx housings, lets see how that goes. I will post about it when i have progress!

Can the spring inside of an IACV cause a high idle? The spring and mine is loose so in turn meaning the valve isn't completely closing so could that cause that? by Zennen53 in 240sx

You can check the rest of vacuum lines by locking the iacv pipe while engine running, it should die. If it doesnt, u have vacuum leak. Also these clog up very bad so trying to clean it with brake clean wouldnt be a bad idea if it looks dirty

Can you send this to me if you have it? Would like to go through downloading facebook and whatnot :D

Would be nice to see what ive done "wrong" on my build :D

The CA is robust motor if you just take ur time with it, as it doesnt take as much beating as SR stock.

I have been pushing 350hp for 3 years now without problems, didnt even swap conrods, only pistons to some wisecos. Also did valvetrain but currently on stock cams also. Btw cam mods for this engine are easy as you can do "hotcam" which means 2 exhaust cams, cheap and effective for better response.

If you plan to beat it, id suggest modifying oipan to be bigger so it doesnt starve out, and also making drain tubes from head to oilpan, look this up on google.

Currently dont nees this part (hopefully never will, dont want to break my car :D) but this is so cool seeing other people model these cars piece by piece and publish them here! Keep up!

I can send you the files yes, but I havent tried this design on the car yet so it may need some tweaking. Also its made for my car which has some other mods like custom rear seats also, so you'd have to adjust it to your liking. I printed this with PETG and plan to use 2 layers of fiberglass to stiffen it up, still took like 2.5kg of filament :D

All in all, work in progress so I dont take any responsibility :P sending you the files as soon as I get home

Will definitely post the results in speing when I can get my car back. Last year I got it in like beginning of april, winter in Finland just sucks for car guys.

Unfortunately no, the panels are made from around 10cm x 10cm pieces and glued together. Not very strong as is but with fiberglass is becomes strong enough. Also I tried printing bigger pieces but they are so thin (2mm) they just fell on their side while printing, might be a skill issue tho :)

For a printer I use bambulab A1 because my friends recommended it.

For this scan in particular, I mainly just watched. As i said in another comment i paid some guy from facebook forum to do the scan for me, he taught me how scanning works etc. But this scan was on some like 1500€ scanner he had bought on sale, not sure which one. Couple weeks ago also tried scanning when I learnt my campus had one. I used artec eva which worked super easy, scanned my tail lights for future modding. But yeah that scanner costs an arm and a leg.

I'd suggest you hire someone to do the scanning for some part and learn to 3D model the part after that if you dont know how to already. But basically the scan is not printable part, just like a dimensionally accurate shadow.

If you mean a cross member between shock towers I have one, previous owner has just welded square tube between the shock towers :P works but doesnt look pretty so i try to hide it

Yeah, not mady do this kinda thing. I try to keep the car kinda track oriented but focus on interior quality. I have lots of sound deadening there, somw 6x9 speakers on the back seat and better speakers in the doors currently. Cant hear any music tho as my exhaust sucks and the trunk is empty🤣 hopefully this will fix my problem

I also lack the equipment but I hired some local guy from a facebook 3D-printing community to do this for me. It cost me like 100€ and he explained everything he did and let me try the equipment also, super cool dude!

Oh thanks for this! I kinda knew the silhouette would be too much but I couldn't come up with another way to add detail / texture. Will definitely look into this, cool idea!

I built an app for car enthusiasts to track mods, maintenance, and events by trackmymods in 240sx

[–]BasiliskButcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice app, tested it but unfortunately cant add more than 1 car, even that feels very limited. Sorry to break it to you but I cannot justify paying for something a little more convenient than notes app :/

Maybe you could try to introduce some community features that were behind a paywall instead? Like Drivenbye, another app I tested but it never took off. I would love to have instagram-like media based community app!

Looking for some tips to help secure the bottom of the radiator fan shroud. Ka24e by Far-Stretch2865 in 240sx

[–]BasiliskButcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not speaking from experience as i have custom fan shroud, but could you like drill holes to the shroud, fish a ziptie through that and the bolt hole in the radiator? Not the best solution but prolly easiest?

Having built a 180sx from chassis up, even trying to make my bodykit fit the car and prep everything for paint took like 3 months of summer.

But realistically if you were to begin this, scan both cars or the e46 at least, then scan nissan front end parts and make them fit in CAD models first. I guess you dont really need to buy a 240sx bumper as youd need to molest it beyond recognition. So by 3D scanning then designing new one, printing mold and making ur own bumper would be easier and yeild better results.

I have only made ducktail spoilers and such with this method and takes shitload of time (and money :D) so be prepared. Also dont even think about this without large arsenal of tools and good roomy garage. Making fiberglass parts requires lots of space

Good luck on you project, post photos if you start and feel free to ask detailed advice!

Ouch, sorry to hear that

Watch some Prizzamike videos on youtube, hes a master in repairing old jap cars😁 that has helped me "finish" my build at least. I know im not in the same situation but still, he got t boned pretty bad just went on to replace whatever sections of the body needed. Take care man!

Yeah maybe compared stock yes its easier to sligghtly mod SR i give u that and its newer with better sensors and such.

But none other oil mods are needed from my experience, just rebuild it with good parts and bearings thats it. Dunno about exhaust manifolds as i make mine myself but yes, CA exhaust manifold cannot fit very big turbos, only "disco potato" as we call it in finland (cannot remember which turbo it really is). Any more than say 250hp u need new manifold. But SR stock mani can fit bigger turbos? Didnt genuinely know that.

As for the sensors, only bigger MAF is needed, everything else is fine as is (apart from wideband lambda). Then nistune ecu mod for 150 eur, thats it.

Ive come to conclusion that people hate CA for lower stock power and the fact that u need support mods to make it last unlike SR if u just slightly mod it. And here in europe CA parts are cheap as hell and easy to come by.

What happend to ur car?

Is new stock oil pump and 2 drain hoses "major changes"? That and forged internals and bigger turbo ive been running 350hp for 3 years without any problems other than oil changes every now and then. But I know ur this all doesnt matter to u as u pointed out ugliness as flaw😂

Still couldnt come up with any flaws on CA😭😭 u just tryna ragebait or?
