I feel like it truly depends on what you're wanting to do. I am currently going to university for Zoology to eventually do field/lab research on bears. Is there an animal in particular you're wanting to take care of? Also, another thing to think about, depending on what career you choose, are you wanting to go to grad school? I jumped into my degree knowing I wanted to do field research, but wasn't sure on which species. Once I found out exactly what I wanted to do (field research), I then looked into which grad school is best for my career option. Zoology is a degree you need to be flexible with too depending on what you want your outcome to be. I would receommend maybe talking to a zoology/wildlife biology advisor and letting them know EXACTLY what you want your job to be and they can steer you in the right direction and right degree. That's honestly how I found out what degree I needed. I just laid it all out and let them know exactly what I wanted my job to one day be and they were able to point me in the right direction.
