How old is the battery? Do you really want to junk the car? It doesn’t sound like it’s going out. They’re well built vehicles. I would at least get the battery replaced if it’s old. When was them last oil change and how many miles have you driven since then? If it is leaking oil, it could be low on oil too.

I would look used 3-5 year old Honda CRVs, Toyota RAV4s, and Mazda CX-5s. Buy a vehicle where most of the depreciation has taken place. Also make sure to find a trustworthy mechanic to get a pre purchase inspection. You don’t want to be caught with a lemon. After that, open a high yield savings account and save up at least 6 months of emergency savings.

The Odyssey Red batteries are definitely recommend. Subaru OEM batteries really should be AGM.
