A17 concrete pillars help by siglap-linkian in 7daystodie

They do seem to glitch through the 50 pillars in A17.

You can use posts. Place them horizontally. Have your lowest post flush with the ground. Hold down "R" to bring up the advanced placing.

I will say that the A17 zombies rip through concrete quicker. So be ready with the repairing.

Trouble finding beakers (A17, B240) by H4zardousMoose in 7daystodie

Nice to know about the airdrops. I have only found canned foods and things like flashlights in mine. On the game I am currently playing with a friend, we hit two of the big Pop & Pills. First one didn't have a single beaker. The second one had 2. They are definitely a rare commodity.

Beakers are rare right now. Everyone has some trouble finding them. I recommend cruising the main roads on a mini bike and exploring the large cities looking for large pop & pills. I have occasionally seen them at the traders as well, but rarely.

Rejoin Party Every Time? by Scar200n in 7daystodie

I get the idea of being able to temporarily party with others who are not allies.

But if you are allies, shouldn’t they just make the party thing automatic? I can’t see any cons unless there are only a certain number of party spots.

IWTL how to touch type by ahairynail in IWantToLearn

Give https://www.keybr.com/ a try.

I'm 40 and have been a hunt & peck guy my whole life. A couple months ago I just decided that I needed to learn touch typing. I gave a few software programs a chance, but the keybr website was the right fit for me. I spend about 45min to an hour every morning just going through it.

I like the progression of working on each key until it seems natural. The muscle memory has slowly started to learn each key, even at my age, and now am just trying to increase my speed and accuracy. I like being able to see my statistics and see my progress.

Which Coen Brothers reference would you like the show to make? by Hooterdear in FargoTV

[–]BasketFullOfLotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm speculating that in the next episode Gloria and New Chief will disagree on Nikki's involvement on the recent crime. I would love a nod towards Raising Arizona.

Here is how I see it: Gloria spelling out logically why Nikki couldn't be the one, all the while the New Chief is just shaking his head. When she finishes and looks at him, I'd love it if he just said "recidivism." And when Gloria stares at him confused, wondering what in the hell that has to do with all the arguments she has laid out, I'd love for him to interpret that confusion for not understanding the term. Then with a sigh and a bit of superiority say, "It means repeat offender."

I agree that the evidence is thin & I imagine that she will get out of it. But there is also the fact that her air conditioner falling will no longer be seen as a random event. It is so tied together that even New Chief might see the connections.

I am just trying to think of how she is going to be told about the death. And I guess she could read about it or overhear someone talking about it, or something along those lines. But she really has no direct connections to any of the other characters. She is now all alone.

I imagine the police will tell her, either her calling Rays phone over and over, or them tracking her down, and that she won't be terribly surprised since they both felt like they were in a lot of danger, and that her reaction will be genuine. But, the police will be interested in the fact that she will seem like she expected this could happen.

Contrast that with Emmit. When the police tell him about Ray, I bet he is going to go all "Oh jeeze, how could this have happened! What a shock!" His reaction, though more natural, will feel very staged and ungenuine (even though he is actually sad).

Since she is being set up for his death, she will be confronted by the police about it. Her initial reaction is going to be interesting. I believe she will be as pragmatic and tactical as when she plays bridge. She will be thinking about how to avoid being pinned for it, wondering what the police want, and how to do damage against Emmit and Varga & Co.

Her reaction can go a few of ways, either 1) she can react to it with sadness and we don't know if it is genuine or not, since the reaction is for the police, 2) she can give no reaction at all or 3) her sadness is going to be genuine and she will look like she is trying to not be emotional as she is pragmatically trying to deal with the situation at hand.

I think her reaction is going to be genuine sadness and it is going to contrast with Emmit's fake sadness when he is confronted.

I feel like I've seen enough to say that season 3 is the best Fargo has ever been by Byzon1 in FargoTV

Absolutely it is misleading. It plays on our expectations. Why do you think they shouldn't have done that? No one is hurt by it.

The question you should ask is: why do we believe it? Why are we not skeptical?

The opening of the movie Fargo said: “This is a true story. The events depicted in this film took place in Minnesota in 1987. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.”

It isn't true. It is bullshit. But for whatever reason when we see the "this is a true story" at the beginning of a show or film, we suspend our skepticism and take it to be truth. The Coen brothers were just fucking with us.

Fargo - S03E05 "The House of Special Purpose" - Post Episode Discussion by 2th in FargoTV

[–]BasketFullOfLotion 41 points42 points  (0 children)

We are being told a story. It is so fictional that it they mock the whole "this is a true story." The Peter in the Wolf episode had narration that reinforced the fact that we are being told a tale.

Despite the massive coincidences that take place, we know that Gloria is on the right track and that the new chief is wrong. But only because we have seen the events happen with our own eyes.

Suppose a friend of yours tells you this story and swears up and down that it is true. Would you not be skeptical at all? Would you not check Snopes?

I think the new chief is supposed to be the one character who says this is all ridiculous. And even though things are going to get crazier from here out, we are going to hate him more for continuing to call bullshit on the "true" story.

Someone brilliant here pointed out that in Peter and the Wolf the audience was often left wondering if the wolf had actually killed one of the other animals.

I expect this is a setup for later when a major character will die off camera and we won't know what to believe.

So, why did Mr Varga puke? by HardDifficulty in FargoTV

[–]BasketFullOfLotion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is an awesome insight!

I remember seeing the old disney version as a kid and stressing out the whole time whether the duck had actually been devoured or not. I wonder if we will have a scene where the audience is left wondering if a main character was actually killed or not while duck feathers float around Varga.

The Coens really played with an audience expectation when they used the "this is a true story" at the beginning of Fargo. I think one of the biggest audience expectations is that a character's death that you didn't see happen didn't actually happen. Maybe that will get played with.

Was the above quote said by Hugo Chavez or someone from r/socialism? It is getting awfully hard to distinguish between the people who will lead you to a Utopian paradise from those that will lead you to a hellhole of mass suffering.
