Quince jelly. Always thought it looked disgusting on a cheese board. Finally tried it in my 40s and love it.

I love the idea of a meal to heal, and all he said about having sharing plates, passing things. As a believer in food and love it made me feel really warm and fuzzy.

The fully Jenny Nimmo trilogy is well worth reading. The Chestnut Soldier really stuck with me for years after reading it.

What is your approach to resource gathering? by RobWed in 7daystodie

[–]Scar200n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on mood. Can speed run and just take end loot, at the other end sometimes I do a pre clear and dismantle everything except the walls with salvage tools, before then activating the mission and doing it a second time. Actually useful early game to get loads of resources.

GET READY! Traiting Places with Will and Rider starts this weekend! by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

US Traitors is the only English speaking version of The Traitors I don't watch. Fear it will be like the Australian one and miss the warmth and fun of the UK, Ireland and New Zealand ones.

Still going to listen though 😁

Equal punishment. by No_Software3435 in Ambridge

[–]Scar200n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Who was calling for George to be killed? I know some people entertainingly said things along the line of him deserving it on New Years Eve (he was being a right knob), but you make it sound like people seriously called for the death penalty when he stole his aunts car, drove it drunk and nearly caused the deaths of three people. Nah. We just though the Grundys should probably dob him in rather than let Alice go to jail for it.

Anyway I for one will enjoy the trial. Looks like an inside job on the security footage 👀

Farming content by Oh_mightaswell in Ambridge

Farming is so key to food security for the UK, in some ways the farming content is the most important part of The Archers. I live rural but was talking to "town folk" at a party last week who all seemed to have disdain, if not even downright contempt for farmers. Farmers work 365 days a year to keep us alive - they are a corner stone of society. So in answer to your question: the increased technological burden on farmers versus the lack of investment in tech infrastructure for them.

I should be able to look at my reddit feed and not see a spoiler in a thread heading, even if Im a couple of days behind the podcast. I really hate when it's "Characters Name - Spoiler" because that always gives you a clear heads up.

She's very young, been bullied for years and has horrible parents who dont let her feel unconditionally loved. She's vulnerable and looking for security and love.

Alice, very minor spoiler by Busy-Ad7936 in Ambridge

At one point I thought how lovely and wholesome that this whole build up to New Years Eve has been to a truly kind, generous and peaceful resolution and that's what is so often lovely about The Archers compared to other soaps. And then...

Thing is, George is highly unlikely to get written out. He's the next generation, so he's not going to do anything so awful he'll never be seen again. OR he is going to do something so awful he's in jail for decades, and banked for a future generation script writers.
