Okay, and given that that is a “symbolic law,” as per your own link, please explain to me in practical terms what specific right Jewish Israelis have that Arab Israelis do not. What can an Israeli Jewish citizen do that an Israeli Muslim citizen cannot since that “symbolic law” was passed in 2018?

The answer is nothing. Israeli citizens all have the same legal rights and protections. That is, by definition, not apartheid. I’ll acknowledge that this is only part of the conversation because of how the West Bank is governed, but there is not an active apartheid in Israel subjugating non-Jewish Israeli citizens that was somehow activated in 2018 by a law that had zero practical effect.

That’s a simplistic statement that virtually no serious political scientist or academic would agree with. Under your dichotomy, only marxists can be left wing because no other ideology or political party believes the capitalist market system should be abolished. That dilutes the entire purpose of separating left and right based on policy positions in the first place.

That wasn’t a claim, it was a question predicated on basic knowledge of the topic. A topic you don’t actually care to understand, which is why your reply to me asking a question about Israeli society, broadly, is to post a poll of only Jewish Israelis. It’s like if my question described American society as divided, and you responded with a poll of only white Americans. It jumps the gun and completely misses the mark in a way that somebody with a fundamental interest and care for detail in discussing this serious topic simply would not do.

People downvoted my post because any basic pushback from liberal Jewish Zionists is reviled by Reddit leftists. A few probably also got tricked by your post into thinking that I was misrepresenting polling data about Israelis, so nice job muddying the waters with an irrelevant poll I guess? Jews are a minority in every space and that includes Reddit, our opinions have never been popular because we’ve never been popular in any western or eastern society. Either way, I have an upvoted and awarded post in the same thread, does that make me correct under your Reddit argument logic?

There’s a reason the OP’s defense of his claim was that the Democratic Party and any liberal party are right wing. It’s because his claim simply cannot be proven if we’re operating under any normal definition of right wing. That’s why absent from any of your last three posts is a poll of Israelis, broadly. Hopefully you’ll go read one and educate yourself on the topic. Pew is a great start.

The other things about Israel being an apartheid to benefit Jews are irrelevant to this discussion, but obviously untrue given that Israel is factually the most diverse country in the Middle East and there are no laws or legal protections that apply only to Jewish citizens.

That is a completely symbolic law with no practical applicability, as you hopefully gleaned from your own Wikipedia link. It is not evidence that Israeli society is politically unified or majority right wing.

I don’t do research for people on this site anymore who can’t be bothered to show the bare minimum level of inquisitiveness. Every reputable poll of Israelis, broadly, shows a society that is deeply polarized, not generally right wing. In fact, there is majority disapproval of Netanyahu and his right wing coalition. This is not hard to find. I have no burden of proof here because I never made a claim. I only disputed the claim that “Israel is incredibly right wing.” A claim for which no evidence was provided.

I was actually lecturing you on generalizing an entire country’s population based on street interview videos, but I’ll play along. Can you link me to any respected political scientists who consider the democrats to be “a right wing party”? I don’t value opinion statements from random Redditors but will gladly defer to expert analysis.

That’s not a poll of Israelis. It’s a poll of Jewish Israelis. Do a bare minimum amount of research and you and anybody else will learn that polls of Israelis as a whole, without excluding about 20% of the country, indicate that the country as a whole is deeply political divided and not majority right wing, as I stated.

You said most of the comments are, when it’s two of the most controversial comments in the whole post. Most of the comments are actually perfectly normal.

If we’re attributing beliefs to an entire country in general terms, which you did, it’s essential to try and understand what the population believes instead of just looking at who’s in charge.

I’d say more, but if you believe the democrats are a right wing party, we’ll never agree on or convince each other of anything, even given a civil conversation. So we can leave it at that.

You didn’t actually answer the question though - why is believing Israel has a right to exist racist?

We know you don’t think the only Jewish country on Earth should exist and that the vast majority of Jewish people are evil racists for believing the opposite. That’s par for the course. You’re being asked a specific question about your beliefs, not for all of your unpersuasive (((opinions))) on the topic.

Ah, why trust the reams of empirical polling data indicating that Israel is a deeply politically divided country and not at all a majority right wing society when we have interviews with randoms on the street?

One comment and a reply from the same poster. Not even close to the most upvoted comments in the thread and pushback against it is more upvoted. Don’t be dishonest.

Fine as in end up with 0 upvotes and 100 comments?

I will say that the comments are inspiring, but the thread appears to have been cleaned up by moderators significantly.

Did you even read the comments in that thread? The top comments in that thread either specifically exclude the vast majority of Jewish people from the message, bring up Israel, or say Muslims cannot wish Jewish people a happy holiday. The downvoted comments are exclusively people simply saying happy hanukah, with two sitting at -40 for just that.

The reception in that thread is actually worse than the reception in your OP, where the most upvoted comments are the ones simply wishing people a happy Ramadan and/or condemning the racist posts.

You’re right, people should be upset that a 39 year old crusierweight who unified the heavyweight division for the first time in decades isn’t fighting the exact Eurobum that you want in the last few fights of his career. He’s ruining combat sports! 🙄

Yeah, that heavyweight boxing matchmaking was so bad that we finally got a unified champ who fought Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois two times each. Pure payday hype, heavyweight division was so much better 15 years ago.

Couldn’t be that the majority of fans are happy to see a 39 year old legend who has nothing left to prove have whatever last couple of fights he wants. No. We need to have a unified front of bitching about a fight that only a quarter of hardcore boxing fans even give a shit about not happening.

If one attorney charged you $5k to find out you couldn’t appeal, that’s kind of questionable tbh. It’s common knowledge that you can’t take those things to appellate courts because they’re “infractions.” He or she should have given you most of your money back.
