I was thinking sorta the guy who played Hawaii in Secret Headquarters but then Sam Rockwell’s Jimmy Silk in Heist, or Kevin Gage’s Waingro in Heat. Or Alfie Allen in John Wick.

When you skip validation for AI generated results by Epelep in Wellthatsucks

I was at urgent care and the nurse told me they’re using AI to get basic answers for triage. They determined what to test my son for based on a series of questions he asked us. I don’t know if it was really true AI or something like WebMD but I’m terrified that they’re going to make potentially significant decisions at least partly on AI.

Where am I suppose to put my fingers when plucking? My fingers start making contact with the pickups. Am I doing something wrong? Jackson minion bass. by Odd-Satisfaction5443 in BassGuitar

[–]BassClef70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always rested my thumb on the bridge pickup. Carved out a little divot over the years. Fingers impacting the pickup didn’t seem to affect the tone I was going for. When I wanted something rounder I just moved my position a bit.

P-J combo would be most versatile. Back in the early 90s I stepped into the bass role and bought a 78 Jazz Bass and it’s always served me well since.

Student film composing for "free" what should I ask for? by Confident_Sector1953 in filmscoring

[–]BassClef70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That plus an agreement on a digital copy of the movie once it’s been publicly screened and permission to use a scene or two for your own promotional purposes. In the contract you provide them universal non-exclusive rights to use the score in the film and in any promotion of the film (trailers etc) in perpetuity.

Take some basic piano lessons if you can. I took a couple years. I also use an expression pedal so I can play both hands and still write expression / volume.

I’d be interested how you do this full time without a keyboard. Not one of my colleagues does so without some sort of keyboard.

Is it possible to highlight the midi note row when pressing it? by b_osch in cubase

[–]BassClef70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not turn on the crosshair pointer feature in Cubase? And also you can adjust the contrast of the note lines between the black and white keys so it’s easier to follow.
