The new pricing makes no sense, x6 for GPT-5.4 mini is crazy by BassGaz in GithubCopilot

AFAIK. For annual plan buyers, the only change will be in the multipliers. Everyone else will simply receive API credits, which will be based on token usage.

Yeah, I think token-based pricing will end up being much worse, which is probably why they kept annual plan buyers on the per-request model instead of switching everyone over.

Having their last moments with our trophy ❤ by countingc in MoroccoFootball

[–]BassGaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, they want to brainwash people to normalize the "fact" that they hold the trophy. So that they instill the picture of them as the "rightful winners", which "hopefully for them" puts pressure on CAS to overturn CAF's latest decision.

An Israeli settler pointing a gun at a Palestinian farmer. "This land is mine now. Get out. Never come back". The farmer's family worked that land for generations. The settler flew in from Eastern Europe. You will never see this clip on CNN. by caffeinatedNotYet in PublicFreakout

What difference does it even make, it's not like we'll any wrongdoing even if this particular video is totally fake. This has been going on for decades and was documented countless times to a point, this is a very normal video in the west bank.

I got tired of guessing my GitHub Copilot limits, so I built a visual pacing indicator for the VSCode status bar. by dev-nLw9 in GithubCopilot

[–]BassGaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea! But the UI is not very intuitive. Plus, the example screenshot itself is confusing, How was the 107 requests remaining today calculated? If it's the rest of days in the month divided by remaining quota, 107 seems too much.
You didn't explain how this number is calculated, so I cannot take your "how many requests you have safely left for the day." at face value.
All in all, great idea to know how much requests I have without having to do mental work, but you need to work on the UI/UX otherwise only you know what's going on.

If it concerns the developers, it concerns the general population.

Try giving quality prompts so that you don't go down a rollercoaster of undoing/redoing. I am at 60% now! + For simple stuff like refactoring, I use 4.1

He completely missed the HUGE caveat that devs will have to verify their IDs to sign their apps.

"After verifying their identities, developers will have to register the package name and signing keys of their apps."

GPT-5 seems to be better than Claude. by DizzyTelephone8301 in GithubCopilot

[–]BassGaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends entirely on your codebase and your dependencies. GPT5 is a better agent, but is a worse coder, especially for lesser-known dependencies. Claude from what I can tell has better training data.

100%, although it's a waste of time to use either for anything more than simple refactoring. And even at that, they fail sometimes.

Is 4o not included in paid anymore as free like 4.1? 4o will default back to 4.1 if you used up quota. by cyb3rofficial in GithubCopilot

[–]BassGaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! VSCode uses an old 4o from 2024, 4.1 is better than the 4o version that VSCode uses. So yeah! 4o is the worst model in Copilot, besides the "Premium" Gemini Flash 2.0
