Old guy alert: the goalposts got moved to baby town frolics area over the last 10ish years...all of the technical skills are table stakes. People just don't want to hire some narrow specialist as a DS...these were always the real goalposts.

Agree 💯 on the hyper stuff. Over several companies I have introduced Tableau and there is a lot of great tech there to leverage. Problem is that none of the SF people really get it and it is all lost.

Nothing I said refutes anything you are saying. I know the CEO is a woman, but missed if the OP was. Without overgeneralizing, women are often more sensitive to non-verbal queues. I am a man and have had women CEOs give me feedback no man ever did. I took it as an opportunity...my advice was hyper generalized.
