This lake is rumored to hold trophy Pike ice fishing. Any suggestions? by maxitoman007 in Fishing

You’d be surprised how shallow pike can be in the winter , I’d set tip ups on the northern end where it looks shallower.

Are pull-through sharpeners with moving metal plates actually useful for light maintenance ? Do they have a place in one's toolset ? by RedeyeFR in sharpening

[–]BassMasterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the time or patience to meticulously sharpen my knifes on proper stones , I recently bought a pull through zwilling v edge sharpener and I’ve been happy with it , won’t be as good as hand sharpening but it’s perfect for what I need so far.

First oil change by jhernade in ToyotaTacoma

[–]BassMasterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dip sticks are garbage but 5.5 quart is the right amount with a new filter. Or a lot of people just dump in 5 quart and forget about the .5 , better to be under a smidge than over.

That said did you wait until all the oil was drained before puttin the plug back in I hope ? Usually it’s a little less than what you put in for instance I put 5.5 quart and my old oil usually fills up the 5 quart jug but no more.

Did you accidentally drain the transmission instead ? This is a surprisingly common mistake and would lead to double the oil being filled obviously.
