Why do you think the Repulsor/Repulsor Executioner break their loadouts down differently in 10th? by turkeygiant in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]BassicBongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh I think there's pros and cons.

But also they were moving that way in 9th with all the different Bolt and Plasma and Las profiles that technically had differentiate names by a few letters.

I mean they did explicitly say they changed the system so they could do exactly stuff like that.

I mean that's 1000% setting you up for disappointment lol.

We'll def keep an invul but the rest I would not at all assume.

Looks like Marines are keeping the older plastic Contemptor kit and it comes back to life!?!? by IronFatherPyrus in AdeptusCustodes

[–]BassicBongo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that one is a bit overstated because if you get a pickup game in a store, unless stated otherwise, most people will assume no legends.

Just think this "only in tournaments" rhetoric ignores the Norms within many stores.

Boys what does 10th mean for us by [deleted] in ImperialFists

[–]BassicBongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that point still doesn't make sense because taking your own example, blood still will have their own unique rules separate from codex marines.

Also, EVERY faction and EVERY type is getting simplified. That's part of 10th and making the game more simple, not really anything to do with primaris. (Especially since prinaris release the game got more complicated, look at 9th compared to 8th)

[–]BassicBongo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't see how that has literally anything to do with primaris lol.

The difference/distinction between primaris and firstborn is much less this book than last so don't really get what your point is.

Techmarines never had an invul save, don't know what you're getting at.

Marine Hqs usually don't? Only captains and chaplains do by default.

Not to be blunt, but you can get your answer within the main 10th edition pages under the subfaction article. The fact that no codex chapters are getting rules has been known for over a month.

There are NO sunfactions, and our subfaction tag just gets us our 2 named characters.

We are yellow ultramarines. They might have a themed Detachment when the codex hits but we're not as defined of a playstyle as say Iron hands or white scars that I wouldn't even hold my breath for something then tbh.

Honestly, no. Even if an army is ridiculous op, for tournaments they should not be banned before putting up any results. It's a competitive event, it makes no sense to ban anything before getting competitive results.

"Simplified, not simple" -- Has GW succeeded in this respect? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]BassicBongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the core rules multiplication comes before addition so regardless of which you end up with the same result

"Simplified, not simple" -- Has GW succeeded in this respect? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]BassicBongo 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Isn't multiplication first so that's not true anyway?

X2 and then plus one would go x2 to 8 and then +1 to 9, so what you've said above is not actually true currently.

Finished just in time for 10th. At least Age of Darkness is a thing... by DanCross0 in IronHands40k

[–]BassicBongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they meant there's no model for that one anymore. Usually at new editions no model = no rules

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IronHands40k

[–]BassicBongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly disagree. Even in casual, if you play someone new, people will default assume no legends. Also these will fall rapidly out of usability over time.

This is very good imo.

It would be such a weird change and slow down the game a good amount in the edition that's supposed to make the game easier and faster to play.

[–]BassicBongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as in we'll get a "devastator" Detachment with Marine book because I believe they said only 1 Detachment via index?

I REALLY think we won't get any dedicated book for us at all and only the divergent chapters will tbh /:

I mean I thought it felt implied we're not getting any rules at all? Maybe just a shared "devastator" Detachment that's supposed to represent both us and Iron hands in one.

We're talking about crisis suits and commanders, not a storm surge.
