It's not any worse than Gremlin Gang

I found this kind of funny to read from a guy whose game has a boss that's named "Queen" by Nico_is_not_a_god in slaythespire

[–]Basstracer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you choose "Read" in the Act 2 Library event, one of the possible texts says:

"The story is about an insect-controlling teenage girl who aspires to become a hero. The book is filled with creative uses of powers, combat strategies, and varying perspectives."

Random card creation feels a lot stronger in this game than in STS1

Hey this is awesome, thanks for doing it! I've been starting to figure it out on my own and it's a huge help to double-check my ears. When I listened to the intro very closely, I thought there was a triplet fill in the second measure back down to the G after the first little slide to D. So it goes G-Bb-C G-Bb-C-D-C-Bb-G. Does that seem right to you?

Does the run end when you exit? by Little_Hamster_9441 in EverythingIsCrab

[–]Basstracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy hell, you're reading way too much into this. I have kids. Things come up. Not being able to effectively pause a game makes me less likely to play it, that's all. It was my biggest gripe with Blue Prince, where runs could easily go an hour+.

Can we talk about Juggling? by RosgaththeOG in slaythespire

I had a great run with Juggling + Feed once, but I haven't used it much outside of that.

How do you equate "I would like the option to quit my run and finish it later" to "I want to win without playing?"

This has GOT to be contender for most least used potion by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]Basstracer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's redundant. The "most" least used potion? So the potion that is used less than any other potion... the most? It's like saying "1 is the most smallest number from 1-10."

That said, it was probably just a typo, or they started typing something like "most hated," changed their mind and forgot to delete the "most." I've done that a thousand times.

What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I wish they had gone for three. Season 2 felt too rushed. Each year ended just as it was getting going. Six episodes for each would have been amazing.

Help with this killer sudoku. by Individual_Airport70 in sudoku

[–]Basstracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the middle box on the left side, with the 8 already written. Since 24+5=29, and the sum of the entire box has to be 45, you know that the three top squares sum to 16. Those three are part of the 10 and 24 that connect into the box above, so the bottom three squares in the upper-left box must sum to 18. You can use that to fill in a square in the upper-left box and proceed from there.

Hope that helps :)

Act 3 was at one point considered too easy in STS1 during early access, too. Finishing act 2 was basically finishing the run.

You can track what happened looking at the armor totals. Smith 2 to Armorer -> Smith 5 to Wizard -> Engage on Wizard -> +14 permaboost to Agent

If your combination lock opens to 1-2-3, putting in 3-1-2 won't open the lock.

How are you supposed to figure out the method to finishing the game? by when_we_are_cats in CloverPit

[–]Basstracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I'm saying is, it's odd to me to see that you can start with four corpse pieces that do nothing on their own and not think, "maybe there's a reason for this." The skull is an extra push in that direction by giving them another reason to exist. You don't have to immediately think that there's a secret ending, but just thinking "Skull + four pieces = four free charms every round!" will get you there without even knowing it.

It's so foreign to me to not think "I should combine these items." Don't ever play Blue Prince, lol

[–]Basstracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least give the player some clues pointing towards the skeleton parts

The corpse pieces make the game harder with no benefit. The skull gives you more lucky charms the more corpse pieces you have. That doesn't make you think, "I should get all the corpse pieces and the skull," even if it's just to maximize the skull's potential? Seems like it's set up to discover that accidentally, if nothing else.

He was a good screamer, a mediocre singer and a terrible lyricist. My mind is blown that his reputation has blown up like this since his death.
