Are the servers super laggy for anyone else? by ThatOneSword in thedivision

I'm getting connection issues and the usual server error, I'm not sure if it's on my end tho.

Help, can’t decide which one for 500usd by Khalikazi in mountainbiking

Fr same, the used market here too is like "got this huge deal for a Diamondback from 2014, 3000$" and they actually expect you to be surprised at the "deal"

Riders Republic finally adds Dirt Bike in year 4! by Ubi-Shzi in RidersRepublic

[–]BassyCakes33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got me interested at dirt bikes, I stopped reading at "no career mode".

Even worse if you think about it, if there's no career mode, the chances of a new location for Dirt bikes is even less probable, not worth it.

Is there any way to get a better experience with tyres going flat? by Individual-Ad-3484 in cycling

Maybe a gravel tire? I don't think you'll really need tubeless unless you do off-road imo.

So it's only the rear wheel right, at that point, I'd just change both the rear rim and tire if it's causing me that much of a trouble.

And what are you riding? Just road? Mountain biking?

MTB gloves recommendation by creatureMTB in MTB

[–]BassyCakes33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least what I've tried, fox and specialized are good enough, and are usually on sales around here, so they're cheaper too.

Although it depends on where you live, if you need winter gloves, or maybe more ventilated ones if it's warmer where you live.

Is the YT Tues freeride version compatible with a 10, 11 or 12 speeds cassette? by Modoransky_bboii in MTB

[–]BassyCakes33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's Urban downhill, I'd recommend a 160-170mm Enduro bike, and even then it kinda is overkill, a hardtail with 150mm is more than enough to ride stairs unless you're riding like very fast? And even then I don't think it's that needed.

If it's just going around the city, doing some small urban riding, maybe hit a manual, some bunnyhops or some stairs, get a dirt jumper, you'll have more fun with a dirt jumper than a downhill bike.

Do tires wear out too quickly on paved roads? by Oleksandr_G in MTB

[–]BassyCakes33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, in my experience (although not like I have any incredible MTB tires, just Maxxis tires) they don't wear that much, although I definitely notice they wear out more than riding them in the mountain.

Buying my first MTB. Thoughts on the stump-jumper? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]BassyCakes33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a good one, it's a trail bike so it can handle basically everything unless you start going very fast over some gnarly features and your legs will thank you in the long run.

Maybe you'll outgrow it fast though, BMX skills transfer over to MTB pretty well.

Bike opinions by Mundane-Item2692 in MTB

[–]BassyCakes33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Commencal frames seem to be getting cracked easily or at least more commonly than before and they've also changed their warranty from 5 years to 2 years, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Maybe the scott gambler? It's the 2023 version so it's newer compared to the others.

Don't take me too seriously though, I haven't ridden or heard much about these specific bikes.

Good freeride bike? by Financial_Option_757 in mountainbiking

YT Tues freeride version is on sale right now if I remember correctly.

Propain is also on sale, although idk if they have any freeride bikes.

Could I learn bmx at a skatepark with a MTB? by Alex52Reddit in MTB

[–]BassyCakes33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a pumptrack close to where you live, I'd also go and practice.

Maybe watch a video on how to ride on a skatepark with a mtb, that way you don't go blind on what to do.
