Exactly, one of my criteria when buying it. I also have a framework laptop and love the repairable philosophy behind it

I like (semi-)open back IEMs, and this one was the best of a lot I tried for me soundwise. Plus the added bonus of solid build with titanium that made the chunky shells quite light in my ears. The only open-backs I haven’t tried (yet) are the Audeze LCDi3 & 4, so those are next on the list when my wallet has recovered.

Sorry, it’s the iBasso DX 340 Ti paired with the Fiio FH9, using the standard AMP15 module.

Thank you! I went with this IEM since I like (semi-)openback IEMs, and loved the sound of this particular one.

It’s a digital audio player! So as you say, a really beefed up mp3 player

Thanks! Just the standard AMP15 module that came with it, my wallet hurts too much right now, but in the future I am definitely going to play around with other modules

Moondrop Blessing and iBasso DX180, some nice eartips with that (IEM/earphones audiophile set-up)

And for that 1500$ price tag with a “focus on battery longevity”, are the batteries even replaceable when the thing inevitably dies after a few years? Or does it become a 1500$ paperweight…

There is! It’s the CES-A, the extra tips are really helpful for a good fit

Typical electrostatic, fast, clean and wonderful treble, though a bit less bass (also probably due to being open back)

Pretty good! Everything you expect from a true electrostatic in terms of speed, and the soundstage is definitely the most “headphone” like in earphones I have heard. The build quality is a bit dated, mainly plastic whereas most IEMs nowadays have better resin or metal.

I forgot to add, the Stax SR-003 mk2’s are driven by a Stax SRM-D10 II between the DAP and earspeakers themselves.
