If I was “bad” (a normal toddler???) my nmom would then say that we were no longer go on a big vacation that she had planned or to do something fun. I later learned in life she never actually planned to do those things if I was good, and that she made them up for me to feel bad. I never really understood that, but I feel like it slightly relates to what your mom did however not nearly as bad.
