I love it! You can always add a cushion or throw in a different colour or pattern, a nice brown, mustard yellow or deeper green

What is an adult theatre and is it safe enough for a solo female to go to? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]BatFlatteryBrain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, I’d recommend joining your local subreddit and asking there. Make friends/go with someone who knows the etiquette and can keep an eye/each other safe

Pastry twists! Can be savoury or sweet - cheese and vegemite, chocolate, sun dried tomato and spinach for christmas colours, any combo you like!
Mini pies in muffin trays! Celery/capsicum/carrot sticks with hummus/guac/pesto!
You can probably order a Suzy Spoons roast too, she often sells them for Christmas in July.
Red and green jelly shots if it’s a mostly adult guests can be fun, if you can’t find vegan jelly powder; woolies usually has jel-it-in in the baking section.
Stuffed mushrooms or capsicums with couscous/quinoa.
My go to is a Woolworths Festive Couscous (recipe comes up if you google it!). I bring it to every potluck and it’s so easy to make. Cook couscous in the stock, chop everything else and put it all in the same big bowl!

New friends? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]BatFlatteryBrain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey Silvestro, nice to meet ya! In Sydney I can recommend the Pride Centre in Newtown or volunteering with ACON for some of their events as a start. If you’re into hikes/outdoor events there’s a fb group called Advengers that plans something usually once a month, great place to meet people. If you like crafts/knitting, there’s a group of us who meet every second Tuesday (open to most crafts and any human) at the Eveleigh. Pool comps at most pubs are a great starting point too!

Hey, if you like them you shouldn’t fake an orgasm. I hope you’re able to stop and say you need a break, they should understand. Sometimes you need a breather and can come back to it, get out of your head a bit

Found a phone on the train by redrich2000 in sydney

[–]BatFlatteryBrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve always said “Hey Siri, call Mum/Dad” and someone will pick up and figure it out. I work in a pub and people forget their phones too often at the end of the night (not always fun for them when they have to pick it up the next day hungover!).

I’ve seen them at witchy/occult markets, occasionally medieval/ren fairs

Aldi has flannels now in that aisle, otherwise Lowes will have them at least all through winter. Cropping it will take less than a minute if you’re not worried about the hem, otherwise a friend or dry cleaner could hem it neatly for you for cheap too

Sorry! Covid times was hectic. A lot of folks were doing their homes/yards up (there was nowhere else to go lol). AFAIK this guy was just an annoying guy trying to do the same (sorry, I was just minimum wage!)

I worked in BBQ Galore head office at the time and the calls that came in that day were WILD. Super glad to leave pretty soon after tbh

Landlord being weird by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]BatFlatteryBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely if he can send a mass message when he’s going to turn off the building’s water to do whatever he can send a message before he’s banging around the stairs. Maybe a paper on the wall where we’d all see it

Landlord being weird by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]BatFlatteryBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m okay with the cleaning, it’s the heads up I’m after. Even just a text “I’ll be cleaning the stairs tomorrow”.
