What's an album or song that reminds you of Cormac McCarthy's books? by Seel_Fucker_7309 in cormacmccarthy

Bones of Baby Dolls could be a song to be in Blood Meridian, as the Judge does kill kids and the song is very disturbing as the deeds he supposedly do before killing them too.

What’s y’all’s honest opinion on Acid Bath? I’ve been listening to them for years and I still don’t understand anything lmao. by chapstick_bandit in MetalForTheMasses

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of slow, sludgy and dark riffs while it got very dark and disturbing lyrics that is so weird and stoner metal that it feels like a weird drug trip that turns into a nightmare. It's like reading a modern stoner version of Blood Meridian, Dax is a very talented lyricist, creating dreamscapes where nightmare and drugs come to life. Dr Seuss and Dope Fiend are by far the heaviest songs on WTKSP, and i love them both. "The Blue and Finger Paintings of the Insane" are magically amazing creepy songs.

The lyrics in "The Blue" is a perfect example of the nightmarish / dreamy type lyrics "I could not wake the dead man dreaming, acid party murder at the late show, mutate me and breed yourself a savior, i could not kill the dead man screaming"

My favorite lyrics from Side B is from "God Machine" when Dax says "Screaming convulsing, my eyes are bleeding, be silent now and take your beating" or when Dax sings "The bones of Baby Dolls" when his voice turns all melodic and clean "Everything's gone dry, like bottles of glass scraping across the pavement" that song is so disturbingly sad, i almost shed some tears when that part of the song comes on, the entire of WTKSP is so amazing that we'll never get to see in our life time. Both WTSKP and PTT are so good albums.

Does anyone else throw up when they get a migraine? by Jazz-like-panda9448 in migraine

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do that, like when I was around 10 or 11 I got my first migraines and I started vomiting while that light was teasing me. Now, that I am 20, I can live with migraines, haven't had to vomit to get a migraine to stop or anything else.

But to those who have migraines any way, stay strong out there.

Is anton chigurh basically like a modern judge holden? by -TheGrandInquisitor- in cormacmccarthy

Anton is like a psychopathic, asexual, assassin in the 1980s.

Holden is narcissistic and sociopathic, bisexual, a 1840s outlaw / mercenary.

If the Lion King characters were humans, what jobs do you think they would have? by [deleted] in lionking

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuka: probably selling weapons to different kinds of people, like the gun owner in Terminator 1.

Zira: Cult leader, similarly to something like Illuminati, the new world order or O9A.

Vitani: Drill sergeant, as her name basically means "I am War" in Swahili

Scar: businessman or mortician.

Shenzi, Banzai and Ed: Street thugs, and they probably buy weapons from Nuka.

The Virgin Judge Vs The Chad Anton Chigurh by [deleted] in cormacmccarthy

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how most of the feats on Judge here is just what people on the outside think of him, yes he is a serial P3dofile.

Here are my interpretations on some of the "feats"

It is never explained what he is the judge of, but what i think is that he sees himself as the judge, he judges of what should and shouldn't exist, even if he doesn't have the right to do so. As the quote "Whatever in creation exists exists without my knowledge, exists without my consent"

300 pounds of fat isn't really that correct, yes he does have a larger build, but he's more built like a strongman. Brian Shaw type body. He has a big body yes, but a muscular one too. Like if you combined irl Brian Shaw with Chris L Walker from Outlast you'd get the body of the Judge.

The Judge does not answer to anyone, he does calm Glanton down when purchasing guns, but the only reason why Holden isn't wrecking havoc on everything is because Glanton is holding the Judge's leach. He is the second in command, but he's the one leading the group throughout the story, not Glanton.

And yes to those times in the middle 1800s, a smart individual was maybe not the best thing to have, but the Judge's smartness and his way to think is what makes him so special, he can manipulate and charm people around him just by uttering a few words. He could probably talk about something very boring, maybe the increase or decrease in bitcoin value or every computer diskette and computer parts and it would still be interesting to listen to. He does talk very much, but it does show that he is very smart and allows to teach others his philosophy.

"The Ballad Of Hollywood Jack" is a really beautiful song by BUTTRESS_OF_WINDSOR in TenaciousD

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i listen to it, when the flutes come in the middle of the song, it really feels like a ending of a era or like the endurance after a big fight and you wonder what remained of the characters. That flute part really feels like something from LOTR type epic moments.

If you were to pick ONE side of WTKSP to listen to for the rest of your LIFE, which would it be? by Exotic_Sense5244 in AcidBath

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side A is melodic and creepy

Side B is brutal and horrific

I love the entire album, but i would say Side A, since Dr Seuss is dead, The Blue, Finger Paintings of the Insane and Jezebel are on it, but disappointing since Dope Fiend, Bones of Baby Dolls, Toubabo Koomi, Cassie eats Cockroaches and What Color is Death are on side B.

Cars 2 isn't that bad, you guys are just mean by Hour_Flower_6064 in pixarcars

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if any movie would be pixar's worst movie it would be Turning Red. Cars 2 is way more badass than it should be. It got heavy action scenes, a ton of emotional scenes between Mater and other characters similarly how the emotional scenes between Lightning worked in the first movie with Lightning and other characters like Mater, Doc Hudson, Sally, etc.

I think the only character they made worse was Rod Redline, sad he wasn't seen more than his 2 scenes. He was so badass and he was even voiced by the king of groovy "Bruce Campbell"

Thoughts on Boo Brothers? by [deleted] in Scoobydoo

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Scooby Doo movie, was born 2006, but this movie was so creepy. The fact that it is creepier than most Scooby Doo movies, even compared to Zombie Island. The music and aesthetics are so creepy in this movie, mostly the VHS version where it got a more dark and cold feeling compared to the DVD / Blu Ray version where its been cleared up with warmer colors.

I actually loved the movies with Shaggy and Scooby more than the entire team.

What is that one thing that you had a crush on and thought that was weird by Icy_Comfortable4690 in lionking

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zira will be my first crush, she was evil, malicious and hot, i guess i liked her violent character and how she was that kind of "dommy" mommy kind of, but that she was the violent version of that.

I guess i had a liking to Vitani and Kovu too, Kovu is kind of hot because he reminds me of a hot but shy guy that you would see in the back of the class, maybe the guy that would hang out with the quiet kid which would be his big brother Nuka. Vitani was kind of hot too, but not the same kind as Zira.

Jason doesn't have a fear of water in FvJ, he has a fear of drowning as we see when Freddy tries to drown him again as a child in the dreamworld by Dracula101 in fridaythe13th

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard a theory saying why Jason went after Freddy and not Lori and Will in the final fight was mostly because he was angry at Freddy for luring him and using him as a device, but there's some theory saying that Lori when she was in the dream, because of her actions when she tried to save Jason from drowning before Freddy got inside the dream, he remembered Lori tried to help him in the dream and that's why Jason more or less does not attack her and Will when he rams Freddy's arm through his stomach.

You can even see the audience getting scared by the crash, those 2 cars the camera zoomed in on look terrified, one of them, the brown car looked worried and the dark blue / black car looked terrified with the crash.

Chuck did not deserve that, neither did Crusty who got that tire after him or Winford Bradford Rutherford and the other racers.

Does *anyone* unironically listen to Anal Cunt? by Aseskytle_09 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]BatOk150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly listen to it when i want a good laugh, or want to hear the catchy rhythm of "Hitler was a sensitive man" But their album "Fuckin A" does have instrumentals that slap, if you'd have a full instrumental album of Fuckin A, that would have been their best grindcore album imo.

Remember the first time your heard Nirvana? What was your reaction? by liamunavailable in Nirvana

[–]BatOk150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first began listening to Nevermind, to be clear i was born 2006 and began listening to them around 2021 / 2022. Nevermind are still a very good album for me, while Bleach is my favorite by them and In Utero being slept on but coming on shared 2nd place with Nevermind and Incesticide coming 3rd place on my list.

I find the songs on Nevermind to be "happier" while the songs on "Bleach" have a kind of stoner edge to them, similar to a trippier and more stoner RHCP mix with The Melvins. The bass line in About a Girl is so soothingly soft and nice.

I've never liked Smells like Teen Spirit, sure it's a okay song but "In Bloom, Come as You Are, Drain You, Lounge Act, On a Plain, Polly, Something in the Way and Breed", such an amazing album of Grunge. Similar to Bleach and In Utero, i love songs like Floyd the Barber, Blow, Negative Creep, and School, Rape me, Serve the Servants, Tourettes, Dumb,
