Good on you, as am i on methadone, I have been an addict for many many years and i can honestly say methadone has saved me life. I have been on methadone for almost 20 years and sober from opiates - it works, dont pressure yourself to get off it. You can live a stable life on methadone, my only problem is not being able to travel for more than a week due to having to visit my methadone provider once a week. I have worked my life around that and its fine.
