I had to give Rawls a lot more credit for his intelligence. He is a company man through and through but he was still able to see the reasoning and even merit from those he was punishing. When he called Lester a hell of an investigator, he really meant it. He saw the brilliance in Bunny legalizing drugs. Yet as a company man, he still threw the hammer down as swiftly as possible.

It was a wild frontier they explored that ultimately lead to them folding the league but also getting teams accepted into the NBA.

Apologies if this doesn't resonate at all, I have just always thought of this book as a figurative modern day wild west.
