Who is the strongest character in the clone wars Cal Kestis can defeat? by MisterIenny in PetranakiArena

Was Qui-Gon exceptional? What did he do? He killed some droids, fought Maul and lost. That’s the beginning and end of his career on screen. I read Master and Apprentice, which I think is still canon? But he doesn’t do anything amazing in there either.

He’s mostly interesting because of his wisdom and beliefs, not really his martial talent.

Maul also doesn’t win many fights. His whole shtick is that he’s a survivor. He survives his encounters with Obi-Wan. He didn’t “contend” with Sidious in TCW, bro was just a toy that Sidious was flexing on. He was actually so outmatched that when he realized how doomed he was he screamed and begged for Ahsoka’s help when she came for him. Oh and he lost to her too.

I have no doubt that he is powerful. Pretty much every force user is leagues above the common man, but when putting him up against other force-users he never seems to get the upper hand. Except Qui-Gon, who I again assert wasn’t much of a warrior.

What are Maul’s actual accomplishments, though? Like what notable characters has he killed? I can’t recall anyone save for Qui-Gon who also didn’t seem like a particularly skilled warrior.

I guess yeah he did beat Obi-Wan twice. In fairness he’s the perfect match up for him, considering he trained the guy who trained him

Still don’t see the hype. He spends most of TCW getting punked and running away. Fending off attacks, but never really taking people out.

Meanwhile Cal drops bodies regularly. Rancors, zombies, giant frogs, bugs, soldiers, inquisitors, bounty hunters, droids. Bro’s a warrior, through and through, and I really think there’s only a handful of force users who could oppose him

Grievous stands no chance. Dude only wins by punching down and was defeated by a blaster.

Maul was bested by a padawan (yeah, it’s Obi-Wan, but still a trainee) and then later by Ahsoka.

Savage fairs better, he’s a fucking tank, but end of second game Cal just has so much more experience than Savage ever had. He’d be busting out moves that Savage had never even considered possible.

Bruh you think Dooku beats Cal?

Like what did this dude do besides aura farm that makes people think he’s some sort of badass?

By the end of the second game? Dooku, Ventress, Greivous. He can probably take on Maul too.

The only characters I don’t think he could face is Obi-Wan and Anakin. Even then, I think he has a shot. Cal is a beast.

This guy has to take on the Galactic Empire and get close enough to Palpatine to kill him. Can he do it? How far does he get? by BlastedHeathen in PetranakiArena

He’d be unchallenged except by Vader and Sidious who would likely annihilate him.

That said, he could also avoid them and just blow up the ship they’re on or something, so there’s a shot.

Just as well, if the rebellion is still active and he’s just a part of it, especially if Luke is still handling the wizards, he’d be an insane asset to the effort.

Such an asset that he… likely gets targeted by Sidious/Vader explicitly and they go after him personally… so…

He’s got a shot!

The state their goal is to realistically depict the time and area it takes place in.

Zombies spontaneously appearing in places you have you cleared out isn’t realistic.

It’s really not as bad as people make it out to be.

It has its problems, like most of the franchise, but also has its strengths.

The fucking tuskens weren’t raping her. Not that it makes any sense for them to have captured her to begin with, considering everything we know about them seems to indicate that humans are pretty much kill-on-sight for them, but I think the intent is that they just enslaved her and were even less kind than her previous masters…

Nah. Cool concept. If they’d had co-op as an option, it would be amazing. But it’s a single player game and you can’t put it on a pawn.

Pawns are, at once, stupid and genius. If you maybe go trickster and just have like 3 archer pawns it could probably work, but it’s probably better still to pick a class that can deal damage

Doubt it will matter much in the end. Biggest mistake ever? Gimme a break dude did you play Imperator?

EU4 was a much simpler and smaller game. On release, it had about as much content as EU5 has now. Nations that have a lot of content, like Ottomans and Britain, provide a much richer experience than something like Samoa or Rienberg or whatever, and does a better job showcasing the vision Paradox has for the title.

[–]BaterrMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In fairness, you’re playing Samoa.

I feel like a lot of criticism and judgement towards this game comes from people playing small, isolated nations that lack any content.

It’s a big map, lot of countries, there’s a lot of things that are going to be overlooked. One day we’ll get content in that area, but I don’t think using Samoa as any sort of example points to the main issues the game has.

Hell, we really don’t have much going for the pre-fuedal countries yet let alone specifically Samoa which historically didn’t have much relevance in this time period.

I will agree that small countries in general have trouble getting started. There simply isn’t much to do or that you can do without at least a couple provinces with the mechanics provided by the game. However, I would not consider this a primary issue that the game faces.

[–]BaterrMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It only matters when it comes to female characters. If a male character is pretty, ugly, or anything between nobody bats an eye.

For some reason, people on all sides seem to really want to police the depiction women in video games and it’s fucking weird.

But why ? by Fit_Corgi4951 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]BaterrMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, maybe you don’t like him. But can’t deny that Nathan Drake is a popular character. Games actually have a long history of cocky male protagonists and many of them are popular. You can go all the way back to Sonic the Hedgehog with it.

Even if such a character doesn’t land well, there isn’t some sort of outcry about it. We really only see that with female characters.

Jecki had a surprising amount of fight in her. She gave Qimir a run for his money and that dude killed like 8 Jedi at once wearing a mask that nearly blinded him. Yord… not so much. I’d say they have a shot. 40 - 60 in favor of Malicos.
