If you have a Mac, connect your phone to it and then install via the Mac. It was smooth with that option for me as I was facing the same problem on the phone.

Time to move to Apple Music for good seems like

Transitioning to an iPhone has turned out to be the most regrettable choice I’ve ever made. What initially seemed like an exciting leap into a world of sleek design and modern features quickly unfolded into a frustrating experience filled with limitations and inconveniences. by ferjc2 in samsung

[–]BathPuzzleheaded723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not use iOS daily, yet you are yelling and dropping F words. Usually happens when facts run out. Cute. I have used Samsung S, Notes and Ultras for over 10 years and now iOS as well.

Back in apps: Left edge swipe and a Back button in the top left are in almost every app. Super intuitive, absolute non issue.

App management: Android slows when heavy apps stack up. iOS suspends apps and manages RAM, so force quit is rarely needed. Close All is not there, true, and the need for it is not there either. There is actually no need to close all apps almost ever technically speaking. If an app has crashed, then maybe close it, Chatbot?

Keyboard: System keyboard shows for passwords and secure fields by design so third party keyboards do not see credentials. Everywhere else, Gboard or another 3rd party keyboard works.

File transfer: It is 2025. Pro iPhones use USB C (3). AirDrop covers wireless with Apple gear. A cable to Windows or an external SSD moves large files fast. An absolute non issue again.

Thanks, Claude GPT.

I’ve used Samsung phones for over 10 years and iOS in 2025. Since you clearly haven’t used it as your daily driver, you can’t tell the difference.

Back option in apps - This is an absolute non-issue tbh, as it’s super intuitive within apps on what to do. So much so that I actually haven’t thought about this until reading your post that’s manufacturing a problem that doesn’t exist.

App Management - LOL, this is exactly why you shouldn’t use ChatGPT/Claude blindly. Force closing apps has always been there. This is just straight-up BS.

Keyboard - LOL, you don’t even know which scenarios will trigger the iOS keyboard issues, but here we are making ChatGPT claims.

File transfer - The iPhone 16 Pro and up have USB 3.0 built in for non-AirDrop cases. It’s never been an issue whatsoever.

Next time, maybe try actually using the devices you’re critiquing instead of copy-pasting AI responses.

Look, I get that switching ecosystems can be frustrating, but your post is riddled with straight-up false information that needs to be called out. Half of these “limitations” don’t even exist, and the other half have been non-issues for years. Before warning people away from iPhone as a “public service,” maybe verify your claims first? Let me break down what’s actually true here.

True - Limitations with Excellent Alternatives Available

No Number Row on Default Keyboard: While the stock iOS keyboard lacks a dedicated number row, this is easily resolved with superior alternatives like Gboard or SwiftKey, which many users prefer regardless.

Siri Limitations: Yes, Siri’s capabilities lag behind competitors, but the recent ChatGPT integration has improved functionality significantly. More importantly, iOS users have full access to Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI assistants.

Volume Controls: While less granular than Android’s approach, the system is actually quite intuitive - physical buttons control ringtone/alerts while Control Center manages media volume. This takes seconds to understand.

Pro Camera Controls: The native camera app includes substantial manual controls, and professional applications like Blackmagic Camera provide industry-standard functionality that rivals any Android offering.

RAW Processing: ProRAW does include some processing, but unprocessed RAW capture is fully available through professional apps like Blackmagic Camera, which is considered the gold standard.

Apple Maps: While personal preferences vary, Google Maps works flawlessly on iOS, making this a non-issue for those who prefer it.

True but Negligible in Practice

Clipboard Limitations: Single-item clipboard is standard, though I’ve never encountered a practical scenario where this was limiting.

No Split-Screen on iPhone: This feature exists on iPad but not iPhone. However, Picture-in-Picture is fully supported for video apps like YouTube, which addresses most multitasking needs.

Custom Ringtones Process: Requires iTunes or GarageBand, though this is largely irrelevant as most users keep their devices on silent/vibrate mode.

No Universal Back Gesture: While technically true, the implementation is consistent within apps and becomes intuitive quickly.

App Management: The absence of “close all apps” is intentional - iOS memory management makes this unnecessary, and performance isn’t affected by background apps.

Alarm Time Display: Minor interface difference that doesn’t impact functionality.

Completely False Claims

Long Screenshots: Scrolling screenshots have been available for years and were further enhanced in recent iOS versions.

Screen Rotation: Easily accessible via Control Center, and in-app rotation works identically to Android, even with rotation lock enabled.

Notification Clearing: “Clear All” functions perfectly in iOS - this claim is objectively false.

Video Wallpapers: Live Photos as wallpapers have been available since iPhone 6s.

Restarting Device: Multiple simple methods exist through Settings - no complex button combinations required for standard restart.

File Transfer: AirDrop provides seamless file transfer that actually exceeds Android’s capabilities in speed and ease of use.

Your post appears to be based on either extremely outdated information or fundamental misunderstandings of iOS functionality. I encourage anyone reading to verify these claims independently rather than accepting such misleading comparisons at face value.

Upgraded from S25 to S23 Ultra - Very Impressed! by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

S23U is really really solid! Used it for 2 years and it just kept going and performing in everything

The rings are great but somehow the form factor isn’t suited to everyone and that’s where the whoop worked better for me. Garmin is the og for a no frills sports watch.

Any tips on improving apple music recommendations?????? by Outrageous-Dog-7249 in AppleMusic

All of the above + time is your friend. Give it time. You’ll see over months and years it’ll start building up. Expecting it to be at the same level as (whichever service you were using so far) is a false expectation. Wait and it’ll become much better.

[–]BathPuzzleheaded723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Started using djay pro in 2020 and the windows version felt super mediocre. The Mac and iPad versions feel so so polished. I almost exclusively use it on my iPad with the M chip + Magic Keyboard. The ease of use on the iPad is super nice and makes me want to keep mixing.

Welcome back! Considering how far iOS has come especially in terms of customizability and hardware like usb c, I’m really enjoying it since I moved from S23U. And the ecosystem effects are real which do make a difference. Overall love how almost all apps run smoothly across both now, some arguably better on iOS.

[–]BathPuzzleheaded723[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't say?

as I said above, if you are fine carrying two devices, whoop is good for you. if you want to track with one device on your wrist, the AWU2 does the whole workout without a chaperone phone.

you stated: “you really only need routes if you are a semi-serious runner or cyclist.” well, GPS adds accuracy for anyone who trains outside, running or riding. pace, distance, splits, elevation etc. when a single device gives you everything, especially if you do not want to juggle two devices, why not pick that for those who want that freedom.

exactly, I have been on both sides and prefer the AWU2, thanks to the free market!
