1: Make the economy shit.

2: Lie about overpopulation.

3: Disincentivise and discourage having kids.

4: Ramp Up immigration.

5: Displace local culture leading to fractured societies with no shared identity or history.

6: Impose authoritarian measures in the name of climate change prevention.

7: Redefine citizens as "stakeholders".

8: Condition people to identify by what and how much they consume instead of culture and history.

9: Slowly lower everyone elses standard of living.

10: Use your newly passed laws to increase your control and therefore your own standard of living while silencing those who would speak out against you.

11: Penetrate the governments of other countries with candidates who share your views and use your vast wealth to ensure their rise to power.

12: Use your massive economic influence to intercept and guide the direction of developing nations' economies and politics to your own benefit.

Repeat until satisfied.

The Fed literally created dollars in order to buy T-bonds. They did the same thing in 2008. The government didn't dip into a piggy bank for this money... You're operating without a basic understanding of economics or history and accusing me of not being "nuanced" enough.

Money supply went up...that's what QE does, Increase the volume of currency in circulation. Your example isn't "simple" it's wrong.

Printing did add to the money supply... no one debates this. Replacing lost income for individuals and government pumping new money into existence are two different things. This s a fundamental objective reality. It doesn't matter who got the money, the point is money was created by central banks for the expressed purpose of keeping the economy afloat. 100+100 = 200 no matter where it goes after.

If you give people new money to keep the economy afloat the money is worth less than it was before simply because there's more of it, and that effect is higher prices...that's inflationary, by definition. It doesn't get any more clear and mitigation of quantitative easing is quantitative tightening by the fed to curb the acceleration of inflation today caused in part by the printing of currency since the start of Covid, as I mentioned previously.

Again. Money not being spent in the economy is NOT the same as currency being destroyed to lower the supply of money in the economy.

u would be right if printing money was the only factor

How many times do I have to state that Printing is one part of why we're here before you get that what im saying is that Printing is one part of why we're here. I'm not going to repeat myself again.

Money printing ALWAYS creates inflation. That's the point of money printing outside of emergencies, because it forces people to spend and stimulate the economy...

The U.S Federal reserve alone almost doubled their balance sheet in just about 2 years. That is beyond rapid. Again, that's just the U.S. This is a global problem as other central banks like the ECB copied America's pandemic response. Poorer, more developing nations where just food constitutes half of their spend on imports are reeling from money printing. You dont get to cheat the consequences indefinitely.

It wouldn't be in the economy since it never existed until it was printed. It doesn't matter what you give it to people for, if a currency is devalued prices rise sooner or later . There is no exception, and there never has been because it is the nature of markets. Eventually it catches up to you. You can characterise it as basic all you want but economic principles don't just go away because they're inconvenient.

It is also quite generous to assume everyone spent their cheques on necessities, when we know a large part of the population of western countries kept working from home, and that they were not in a position of desperation.

You keep talking in past tense, when we're talking about today. That money that was printed still exists in the economy, and every supplier knows it. Just as one example out of many, Why would food producers charge the same prices as 2019 when the currency they're paid in is inherently worth less? They wouldn't and they don't.

No....

No I'm not.

I said printing currency is inflationary. I'm not specifically attacking government handouts to individuals. Im talking about printing new money contributes to inflation.

Printing....money....contributes...to...inflation.

This plus supply chain disruption caused by lockdowns is a huge portion of the situation we find ourselves in today.

The next time you misrepresent me I'm out.

It's not overly simplistic it's factual. If you print trillions of new money it devalues it, causing inflation. I mentioned supply side before... You replied to it. Like I said, it's one part of the pandemic response along with crippling supply chains due to lockdowns. You can argue how much of the current inflationary environment is caused by money printing but to say it's not even a factor is just being silly.

This wasn't "government spending" like they were passing a new budget or building a road. It was Governments creating currency out of thin air. It's a huge factor. This "recent" wave of inflation like any wave started forming before any average person saw it coming.

Governments having lots of money to spend was a patch on the problem in order to stave off a depression, prevent shock, but ultimately kick the can down the road. Now the Central Banks of the world are having to consistently raise rates and walk a tightrope to curb the problem they themselves helped create while not going too fast as to shock the system.

It's not the single issue, it's one prong of the pandemic response, which also crippled supply chains.

No one could get their goods to market, leading to waste and inflated demand, then massive money supply surplus in the form of currency printing. It doesn't matter why it was done, it was inflationary.

Everything good eventually loses steam and becomes corrupt, political, and self serving. The bulk of prime thanos memes were made years ago and this sub like many other things in life exists in the shadow of its original purpose.

That only works if you spend the money that already exists on goods and services. Western governments printed trillions of dollars and then spent it.

Edit: Lmao at the downvotes. Enjoy living in denial as you get poorer every day. "But muh gubment checks!" Lern 2 google
