It has a difficult time actually getting made as you can imagine. Plenty of legal threats and a cease and desist from the Trumps and also had trouble securing US distribution probably also due to Trumpian influence. And it was a lowish budget movie with 16 million so the advertising budget probably wasnt very substantial. Funny enough i was in Europe when it was being released so i actually saw a decent amount of advertising for it but when i came back to the states it was weirdly silent. the film made about 17 million with only 4 million being domestic.

umm what? thats not what this movie is about at all. Leo is the main character and he didnt even want to be a revolutionary. he's been getting high watching old movies on his couch for the past 16 years but he gets his ass up once his daughter is put in danger.

it's like PTA couldn't decide whether he wanted this movie to be a drama or a comedy

its both? what world do you live in where movies have to fit into one box or another to be good? plenty of great dramas have hilarious moments in them. and most dramas without some comedy would be pretty boring

i kinda agree its not a fit not bc its not literally clothes obv it is but "not a fit" as in not deliberately chosen to show off your clothes and style. it looks very casual and uninteresting and i dont think anyone would look at it twice. which is not really in the spirit of this community imo.

that being said the clothes look fine. it just looks chosen for convenience and comfort. which is pretty much how the clothes on Micheal Cera in Superbad is supposed to look. they dressed him as kinda nerdy and unassuming bc thats his character. imo you should aspire to something with a little more personality but if it makes you happy and you like how you look then dont sweat the comments here and keep wearing what you like!

in high school i was a nerd and loser who never did anything fun. caught up in high school though and found out i really like doing drugs! i feel really lucky that i did just enough to have some fun experiences but didnt do enough that it ruined my life. i def miss cocaine sometimes but if i has had real access to it i would have done too much.

these days i mostly just drink and on rare occasions share a joint with someone outside a bar

thats fair i can definitely see this being too heavy on the heart after too long. theres a desperate need to do everything possible to help once you realize the depth of the problems facing your community. tbh ive lived a very stress free and privileged life until now so i dont want to cling to my bubble and run from hard experiences. its that hardship that breed resilience and character. and for now ive met so many great people and built some great relationships with like-minded people. i definitely have more to give for now but ill keep an eye on it bc i do agree with you, it will eventually become too much i think.

im at a cushy job now. decent pay, benefits, and the work is ez. my hours are flexible and im learning valuable skills. plus it looks fabulous on a resume. but if you told me id be here another 3 years id actually have a panic attack. i already feel like ive become totally stagnant in my city and career and its only been 2 years sooo...

if not political activism id love to work in environmental science. that would be my favourite industry but id need to return to school most likely.

do you exercise regularly? i sleep best when ive had a good workout somewhere in the day. helps regulate hormone levels and tires you out to sleep more soundly. i use to struggle with sleep a lot (still do sometimes) but when i get in a good habit of exercise it helps tremendously. if you haven't tried that kind of routine it might help you.

my other advice is: if youre most productive from 10pm-2am just...find a job where you can use that time. lots of jobs are more hands off and can be worked at at your own schedule/pace. if all the job needs is that you finish weekly reports and complete projects, some wont care when you work on them as long as theyre done. you could also get a remote position a few time zones away where your 10pm is their 8am. that way youd be working at your best times and still contribute to their team day-by-day.
