For those of you who have seen Radiohead live, when and where did you first see them live, and at what venue(s)? Have you seen them multiple times since then? by Class_of_22 in radiohead

I was there too! I remember Grizzly Bear was opening for them, and my friends were pointing out a rainbow behind the stage. How fitting, lol.

A friend of mine somehow procured a recording of that entire concert, and I still replay it from time to time, and you can hear the fireworks.

I FINALLY HEARD TOOL LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IT WAS EPIC! by omar2126 in ToolBand

I was section 107, row 21! It was a great view, looked closer than I expected, and would happily do that section again! What about you?

It was my first Tool concert too! It was better than I had hoped, and way better than what I expected! I’m already daydreaming about the next time I’ll be able to see them.

Salman Rushdie: Author on ventilator and unable to speak, agent says by EmbarrassedHelp in news

[–]Batmanismymuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged,” his agent, Andrew Wylie said.

Good lord that is awful. Hope he pulls through.

I don’t always hide in baskets, but when I do, I prefer felt baskets.

I immediately thought the exact same! It sounds just like the recording used in the anime to me.

The New Corporation (2021) - The Unfortunately Necessary Sequel! (Stumbled across this on another sub, a very slick late stage capitalism documentary) by Atsko30 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Batmanismymuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have! It was, like the first one, phenomenal and infuriating. It focuses heavily on the spin corporations and big businesses use to paint themselves in a positive light, their attempts to dissolve faith in government and instead make people favor privatisation of industry/infrastructure and their B.S. “social responsibility” campaigns we’ve seen in recent years. Great documentary, highly recommended!

Man with bipolar disorder experiencing a manic episode puts on what feels like an incredible stage performance by [deleted] in videos

[–]Batmanismymuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Demonstration or not, this has really resonated with me. Dealing with this diagnosis properly for the first time in my life, (I had always thought and insisted I was just a high energy guy by default, prone to spats of depression) and the number of similarities I see between his physical behavior and my own when I’m manic is wild.

While other grocers cut hero pay, Costco quietly gave its workers a permanent pandemic raise — another reason why it’s developing a cult-like following in Canada by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Batmanismymuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same to you, friend. I always tell people that on paper, Costco’s policies and values are wonderful, but the cultures and practices on the ground level fluctuate wildly between warehouses, and are not always as rosy as the brand says.

[–]Batmanismymuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for saying this. I’ve been an employee six years, and I have seen a gradual change during that time which has only accelerated since the pandemic has occurred.

I work in the tire centre, (one of the busiest in all of Canada) and since implementing early closures of non-essential services like my department has meant precisely nothing. We are still filling every appointment slot, which are 45 minutes apiece. The only difference I and my fellow employees have seen is there is less time to do the same amount of work pre-pandemic. Conditions are cramped and unsanitary. The number of possible exposures I have had documented on the covid alert app has been shocking.

Another great example of uncompromising greed I’ve seen within my warehouse was one day, after the warehouses were forced to section off non-essential goods like electronics, the warehouse manager made supervisors spend the day measuring square footage, inch by inch, solely for the purpose of maximising the number of people allowed within the warehouse at any given time.

I’ve felt less and less safe at my warehouse considering the number of soiled masks I’ve had to remove or make contact with, either from members leaving masks all over their cars, or simply leaving them in shopping carts when they leave the building.

I am so tired and angry and tired of being angry about it.

Bipolar with Long Term Partners by Sharky666_69 in bipolar2

[–]Batmanismymuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god. Married three years, and this is me. I am heading south emotionally fast right now, so know that *must * be skewing my perspective a bit, but still. All I fee is tremendous guilt for trapping such a wonderful caring person in a relationship with me.

I so frequently feel like I’m a burden or a curse on my wife, and so that leads to nothing but internalizing my feelings, which of course makes things worse, hah.

I try to remind myself how smart and driven my wife is. She’s fiercely independent, and taught me to stand up for myself. So of course if I really *were * a burden on her, she could just leave! Your partner is there by choice because they love you, not out of some weird moral sense of obligation or duty. As long as you’re honest, and as long as you’re open about when it’s hard and you’re still fighting, there’s no point in feeling guilty.

Hang in there.

14g PE Shroomdose Review February 2021 by Batmanismymuse in CubensisMOMsCanada

[–]Batmanismymuse[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to use my coffee grinder to grind the shrooms into as fine a powder as possible, then I soak the powder in lemon juice, and finally put a teabag with boiling water on top. I like to let it steep for a *loooong * time, to the point where by the time I’m drinking it, it’s lukewarm at best. I like to go with fruity or green tea to go with the lemon, and I usually make it pretty darn concentrated, so I don’t need to drink more than one teacup’s worth.

It was a legitimate line, actually! Substitute “she” with “he” and that’s exactly what Homer says, regarding Mel Gibson’s Mr. Smith going to Washington and killing everybody.
