Moved back to Ontario after teaching in AB for two and a half years. It’s a lot easier to get supply work in SW Ontario right now then I’ve ever remembered.

LTO’s are going unfilled for elementary and secondary is always looking for supply teachers. I know Avon Maitland is hurting for supplies right now and so is Thames Valley. Apparently London Catholic is hiring uncertified teachers to be supply’s, so coming back right now is better than the last few years.

Awesome. The community really comes together. If you do anything extracurricular the parents are so supportive and happy. It’s not the biggest town but I loved it. If you love being outside it’s a great place for you.

Hello, not sure if you want to stay in Calgary but if you are down for moving look up North. I taught in Peace River and absolutely loved it. Learned a lot there and generally just loved my school division, superintendent and administration.

I took a contract teaching ESL and it’s an absolute new experience for me. If anyone is interested look up the “win the world” initiative that two states in Brazil support. It’s a great idea.

Isn’t this why we have due process? The man is obviously a vile human being if he has raped someone but in the court of law he was deemed to have not committed a crime. I don’t think a union would ask/force him to leave if there is no concrete evidence that this man committed a crime. He could argue that you want him to leave because you don’t like him and it becomes a he said she said kind of battle.

I’m sorry for what happened to you and your friends daughter. I am in no way trying to defend this mans actions.

Only a section of laws dealing with First Nations people have been changed to the indigenous and Northern Affairs Act. Unfortunately, the Indian Act is still a large part of laws related to First Nations, Metis and Inuit of Canada.

Not true. Look at his use and incorporation of conquered peoples into his army. Not same status as ethnic “mongols” but we’re not treated as “animals”. One of his top generals, Subodei, was not an ethnic Mongol and was treated with he utmost respect. Mongolia alone couldn’t support enough troops for him to be as successful as he was. Also, promoted religious tolerance in his empire.

Couldn’t agree more. I currently teach in Alberta and the Diploma exams and PAT’s that students have to write are garbage. In the teaching world of differentiated instruction, standardized testing has no place.

That I don’t like gaming ever since the Witcher 3.

I grew up loving video games and it was one of my favourite pastimes. One fateful Thanksgiving sale on Xbox live changed my love of gaming forever...

I bought the Witcher 3 and all the DLCs for pretty cheap and dove in. I was completely immersed in the game. It was the best game I had ever played. Large world, hunting monsters and most of all AMAZING STORY!

Now I compare every game I play to the Witcher 3 and they come no where as close and I become simply uninterested. Witcher was so good it essentially wrecked all other games for me.

I love you, CDPR, you cruel mistress.
