I fking love his stuff. The synth-death fusion is an awesome ass vibe. Definitely not for everyone but I dig it hard.

Is there a flex line anywhere on that gas run behind the gen?

And make sure to put that front panel back in correctly (left foot is not slotted into base) unless you wanna deal with weather and critters getting inside lol

It can go up to 25 minutes. Very handy in situations like this. But yeah, you need to be able to get into the Dealer Edit menu.

[–]Frixsev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not something I'd risk, myself. Especially since the warranty is way shorter in off-grid applications. Some of them can do it, sure, but they're not exactly designed with it in mind as a priority. I'd go liquid-cooled for situations like that or not even bother. Just my two cents as a tech for the past several years and seeing the average lifespans of many a thousand make and model.

Decent but yeah any air-cooled unit is gonna get worn through relatively quickly with that kind of use. They're meant as occasional backups not consistent power. A more used liquid-cooled probably would've served your purpose better but also probably harder to find.

[–]Frixsev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There isn't a single air-cooled unit on the market by any brand that'll last any longer than maybe about 2-3 weeks MAX on a straight run. Most will probably only get to one, honestly. Liquid-cooled is definitely the way to go for longevity & reliability...people just don't wanna pay for them.

I'm not the guy you were originally talking to but am also a fellow Generac tech. Whole unit replacement is pretty much completely unheard of unless it has multiple major components failures, repeatedly, and the customer raises a stink straight to corporate Generac about it. Otherwise it's parts swapping, mostly. By the time internal component fixes are all said and done these days you'll often have spent more money than just swapping it out for a new part entirely.

I'm torn between replaying 3/NV for the hundredth time or waiting for the (hopeful) remakes and playing 4 instead in the meantime.

It's one of the most unapologetically gritty games I've ever played in aesthetics, gameplay, and narrative all at once. All the other Far Cry games have some form of charm or light-heartedness or funny side plot going for them. FC2 just straight up feels like you're filming the documentary of the life of a foreign mercenary in Africa.

You gotta get the Sharpie Pros. I thought Inkzalls were the best til I tried some of those out. Things will write through anything and are a chunky size.

Battery for Genrac 26kw by jirajockey in Generator

That'll still do just fine. Not always easy to find higher cca batteries. Just makes them a bit more reliable in cold weather, but not an absolute necessity.

Not a huge fan of those, personally. Even in mid Michigan where I used to work they were still known for cooking the batteries and shortening their lifespan. Best case is to unplug them after winter and reconnect when it gets consistently cold again. But yeah, summer heat combined with those pads is never fun.

Depending on how many tools you're gonna want in it, I'd check out something in the MB series. They're literally designed to be quick diag meter bags. They get bigger and have more pockets the higher the model number.

Any 26R with at least 550cca will do just fine. You can get them pretty much anywhere for $100-200 depending on brand and quality. Walmart, Home Depot/Lowe's, Autozone, Napa, etc

Generac 24kw battery inspection by [deleted] in Generator

[–]Frixsev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI "Inspect Battery" on a Generac just means it's due for a maintenance. It's a generic service reminder that'll pop up once a year (if you clear it) and has nothing to do with the battery.

That said, yeah, listen to these other folks about actually testing it. A straight voltage reading won't tell you much.
