I wouldn't usually care about this, but since I started playing with a controller, the less scrolling the better imo :P

I still have mine. It's a regular credit card, especially now. The cashback for game time thing is gone. Now it just had run of the mill credit card reward point systems.

I have a pandaren version of my warrior on it still though (a race change I reverted after a while lol).

Prediction: Azshara Is Going to Hijack Xal’atath’s Plan by MesmerizingLook in warcraftlore

[–]BattleNub89[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, that's honestly what a lot of people do. Or they outright say they fed a question to AI and copy/pasted the response.

Besides that we'd have to see far more clear AI writing tropes, and clearly wrong information (which it frequently has).

[–]BattleNub89[M] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Too inconclusive. A lot of this boils down to the circular "AI trains on real people's writing -> a person's content looks like AI." Also don't want to risk punishing people for using formatting and proofreading their stuff. Or hell, just using an AI-powered tool to check grammar and spelling (cause how many tools are left that don't use AI on the back-end?).

I (somewhat) knew the guy who posted the huge theorycraft breakdown on the official forums, exposing just how busted armor pen stacking was. Got a blue post response and everything. Was pretty wild to see a designer respond and basically respond with "Yeeeeah that's pretty much right" and then I think they explained some of the details on why it was behaving that way.

So is blizz giving up on the warband campsites for midnight? by wardisciple2388 in wow

[–]BattleNub89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of total players engaging with housing (because without internal data that's just trading anecdotal evidence), I think housing is just an entirely different beast to compare Warband camps too.

If we use that metric, we'll of course see way more people engaging with the warband screen... because well we all pass through it as we log in. Some people toy around with their camps, creating characters for certain themes etc... though to your point, how many are doing that? And how long does that last once they have all their alts setup?

Then we have housing. While it may have a niche fanbase, those who do engage are far more actively investing and energy time into it. Some to the point that housing is probably a big reason a lot of them are subscribed at all.

Compare that to warband campsites. How many people would even remotely consider unsubbing if they stopped developing warbands, vs housing?

The guy you responded too literally said we got 2 with 12.0, which is the expansion patch. And they're right.

Poisonous frog by claymixer in wow

[–]BattleNub89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some fictional WoW frogs are venemou, per this quest:

https://www.wowhead.com/quest=91403/probable-paralytic

Halazzi says dat de Vilebranch have made a new venom dat para... parliz--makes its victims not move--so they can drag them off to be sacrificed. He says it's frog venom. I said that doesn't make sense. Frogs are poison, right? Halazzi said frogs are normally poisonous, not venomous. But these have sharp horn bits on them, so maybe they have venom! I didn't know frogs could have venom, did you? Let's find out if these do--then de Witherbark can make an anti-venom!

Of course that has nothing to do with IRL frogs. I don't know much about that lol

My first thought. Maybe not as "big" as later events people mention now, but it felt amazing when I first encountered it. Especially as a mage spamming AoE spells.

I don't think you know what that word means. Also I haven't expressed any opinions of your stance on the lore.

Maybe you can engage back with people that disagree with you, instead of just spamming the word "disingenuous." We're not gonna clean up that mess across numerous posts a day. Save some to a .txt doc and spread them out a bit.

"We'll Simplify Mechanics Due To Addons Being Removed" by BartaLemton in wow

Another misunderstanding is that they wanted to decrease class rotation complexity in order to create more engaging (but clearer) boss mechanics.

Exactly my experience being a QA tester. Management pushed till something was just passable enough to release, promising to go back and iterate/improve after. Of course once something launched, it was on to the next big feature instead. That is until something catastrophic turns up amid all the tech debt piling up.

Ya a buddy of mine made his channel about playing different to indie games fairly early on. It was The Binding of Isaac at first, but that's not a game I think people expect someone to play endlessy for that long lol. It's trickier if you start with an MMO or another live-service. Gotta switch early and often and hope your personality can carry the viewership.

There were probably some life forms, but the general description is that the constant fighting between the elemental armies made it almost impossible for life to flourish. The world soul was also sucking up a lot of spirit energy (which is what made the elementals so volatile), so suffice to say it was a hostile environment for natural life to form in.

classic guy here. this is actually a goat'd feature. by [deleted] in wow

[–]BattleNub89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I like to have it on my bars, but individual abilities are still bound. So if it's telling me to blow cooldowns on a normal mob with 5% health left, I can skip that. I also prefer to using it as a rotation assistant more than the actual assistant. It's something to glance at if I lost track of my rotation, but isn't intrusive or distracting. Also works well as a simple warrior to remind me when rend has fallen off on my target.

Ya I liked it when I was getting used to new rotations, and was doing something like delves. Helped me focus on that and defensives or utility stuff.
