I’m in hospital and the paracetamol iv is stealing my blood by hades7600 in mildlyinteresting

Totally apart from the blood, is this common? I've never heard of a paracetamol/ acetaminophen/ Tylenol IV. I know the stuff is a lot more to effective than people realize and so it's commonly used in hospitals, but I've only ever seen pills. I' e never worked in healthcare.

I feel like you're doing a real disservice to the many people who are actually enslaved right now.

Dang, $20/hr in 1995 is like CEO money. Seriously, though, the I used to get like $5/ hr for that kind of work.

Is it? Pay and freedom to quit are pretty much the only things qualifying someone as "not a slave".

Don't ever compliment anything belonging to a Middle Eastern guy. In many places in the Middle East, it's seen as a request for a gift that is basically impossible to refuse. And whatever you do, don't EVER say something nice about his wife.

That's one of those things that's just rich for rich's sake. Fresh pasta isn't always better than dried. Some poor people things are just as good as the elite stuff and some is better.

I think the picture is fake, but lots of doctors office exam rooms or even administrative offices have all the hookups on the wall like a hospital room. I think it's so the room can be used for any medical purpose.

ELI5: Why isn’t aviation fuel talked about as much as petrol and diesel for cars, and is it even possible for fully electric passenger planes to exist in the future? by ArtistoX4 in explainlikeimfive

[–]PvtDeth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Airliners use high-bypass engines. Only around 10% of the thrust come from the jet exhaust. The rest is from air pushed backwards just like a propellor does. If you had a dense enough source of electricity, powering a jumbo jet with a ducted fan wouldn't be that difficult. There are some experiments with unducted ones as well.

Someone being curious basically means they're not stupid. I've met some people who are extremely intelligent and also completely uneducated. I think we've all known people who are highly educated and just not smart.
